We Energies purchases nine acres in Menomonee Valley near Valley Power Plant

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- We Energies is buying up land in the Menomonee Valley.The power company bought over nine acres next to its Valley Power Plant on West Canal Street.According to a deed transfer filed with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, the sale price was $1.35 million.A We Energies spokesman says they do not have plans to expand the plant, but he says they saw an opportunity to expand the perimeter around the plant, and they were able to do so.CLICK HERE for more on this story via the Milwaukee Business Journal.

We Energies: 2,600 without power in West Allis late Tuesday

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- We Energies crews are dealing with a power outage affecting 2,600 in West Allis as of 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3rd.The outage began around 9:15 p.m.Crews are working to figure out what's causing the outage.The outage boundaries are as follows: western boundary is N. 91st Place, eastern boundary is 69th Street, northern boundary is Chestnut Street, and the southern boundary is McMyron Street.

We Energies: 2,000 people without power across southeastern Wisconsin after storms push through

SOUTHEASTERN WISCONSIN (WITI) -- A We Energies spokeswoman said 2,000 people were without power throughout southeastern Wisconsin after storms moved through on Tuesday evening, July 29th.Areas south of Milwaukee were hit the hardest by power outages.A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Racine, Kenosha and Waukesha counties as these storms pushed through.A We Energies spokeswoman says 400 people were without power in Kenosha.Crews are working to restore power.
