Severe weather caused a huge mess across southeastern Wisconsin in August, taking down trees and powerlines. That mess was cleaned up for most but not all. For one Milwaukee family, the damage is still causing major problems.

We Energies continued work to restore power on Thursday, Aug. 12 after Tuesday's storm left tens of thousands of customers in the dark. Some could be waiting until Saturday to see their power restored.

In the wake of the severe storms, more than 100,000 were reported to be without power, with between 400 to 500 crews working to restore it via round-the-clock shifts.

We Energies crews spent the day Wednesday, Aug. 11 working to restore power after strong storms and high winds caused extensive damage across Wisconsin Tuesday night.

A retired Jefferson County firefighter died as a result of an explosion at a home on West Water Street in the Town of Rome.
