HARTFORD– On Wednesday, June 24th, Governor Scott Walker joined local officials at Erin Hills Golf Course to promote the 2015 PGA Championship, 2017 U.S. Open, and 2020 Ryder Cup coming to Wisconsin.“Wisconsin is home to a number of world-class venues and we are honored to host three of golf’s most prestigious events,” Governor Walker said.  “We look forward to showcasing our wonderful hospitality and all the beauty Wisconsin has to offer.”In 2017, Wisconsin will host the U.S. Open for the first time at Erin Hills Golf Course.

Kelly Rindfleisch, one of Walker's former aides, asks Supreme Court to toss her conviction

MADISON -- One of Governor Scott Walker's former aides has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to toss out her conviction for campaigning on government time.Kelly Rindfleisch served as Walker's deputy chief of staff when Walker was the Milwaukee County executive.Prosecutors accused her of working on Walker's gubernatorial campaign and Republican Brett Davis' lieutenant government campaign out of her county office.

Judge awards $45K in legal fees, damages to six protesters cited at Capitol in 2011

MADISON -- A judge has awarded nearly $45,000 in legal fees and damages to six protesters issued citations during demonstrations at the Wisconsin State Capitol four years ago.The Wisconsin State Journal reports Dane County Judge Frank Remington on Tuesday awarded compensation for attorney fees as well as awards for loss of liberty, emotional distress and damage to reputation.The six protesters were issued citations while protesting Republican Governor Scott Walker's 2011 legislation that effectively ended collective bargaining rights of most public employees.

Wisconsin Senate approves 20-week abortion ban bill

MADISON -- The Wisconsin Senate has advanced a fast-tracked bill that would ban non-emergency abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.The Republican-controlled Senate passed the measure Tuesday night on a 19-14 vote on party lines.
