Frontier Airlines adding three more non-stop destinations from Mitchell Airport

MILWAUKEE -- Frontier Airlines is adding three more non-stop destinations from General Mitchell International Airport.Frontier will begin offering non-stop flights from Milwaukee to Philadelphia, Dallas and Atlanta in April.Other airlines at Mitchell already serve those destinations, although Frontier will be the first discount carrier offering non-stop service to Philadelphia.To introduce the flights, Frontier will offer a special discount fare of $49 one way to Atlanta and Philadelphia, with a $59 fare to Dallas.CLICK HERE for more on this story via the Milwaukee Business Journal.

Ismael Bonilla to start as new director of General Mitchell International Airport on February 1st

MILWAUKEE -- General Mitchell International Airport has a new director.Milwaukee County has Ā hired Ismael Bonilla as Mitchell Airport director -- eightĀ months after the prior airport chief abruptly resigned, the Milwaukee Business Journal is reporting.Bonilla is currentlyĀ the chief business development officer at Hi-Lite Airfield Services in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mitchell Airport officials expect 16% increase in Thanksgiving-related travel this year

MILWAUKEE -- Smoke was seen coming from the engine of a private plane at Mitchell International Airport on Thursday evening, November 5th.Officials with the airport say no injuries have been reported on the plane (Cessna).The plane was stopped and parked -- with no further smoke being seen from the engine.

United flight en route from Denver lands safely at Mitchell Airport after apparent mechanical issue

MILWAUKEE -- A General Mitchell International Airport spokeswoman tells FOX6 News United Flight 5330 en route to Milwaukee from Denver landed safely Sunday evening, September 27th after experiencing an apparent mechanical issue while on the taxiway.The aircraft landed safely as scheduled around 7:00 p.m.Once the aircraft landed, we're told the pilot reported an apparent mechanical issue while the plane was on the taxiway.
