'She-Hulk': Three Marvel movies (and one TV show) to revisit before starting the series

“She-Hulk,” like most of Marvel’s Disney+ shows, is designed so that new viewers can jump right in – it’ll catch you up on anything you need to know about the MCU. But if you’re looking to do a little Marvel rewatching before the series premieres, here’s what we’d recommend based on the first four episodes of “She-Hulk” screened for critics.

‘13: The Musical’ review: Broadway magic gets lost in Netflix translation

Jason Robert Brown’s musical “13” came with a ready-made hook: It was the first (and so far, the only) Broadway musical to be performed entirely by teenagers — right down to the band. That juiced up its simple story of middle school drama with some endearing, energetic novelty value. Yet while Netflix’s new adaptation of the 2008 stage show keeps the talented tweens, it loses most of its magic in translation.

Before the MLB at Field of Dreams game, stream this free special

MLB is returning to Iowa for the second annual Field of Dreams game — but the town's "Ghost Players" walk out of the cornfields all summer long. A 2010 documentary (which is currently streaming free on Tubi) tells the story of these community-oriented, baseball-loving performers.

Academy of Country Music Honors to make FOX debut

FOX is going country this fall. Just in time for the debut of FOX’s new star-studded music drama “Monarch,” the network will also air the 15th annual Academy of Country Music Honors on Tuesday, Sep. 13.

Watch at home: ‘Elvis’ is an epic, gaudy biopic fit for a king

With "Elvis," the absurdity is part of the point. It’s important to know that going in, otherwise the film’s frenetic opening act might be completely off-putting instead of just mildly overwhelming. Having established his signature glittering style with movies like "William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet," "Moulin Rouge!" and "The Great Gatsby," director Baz Luhrmann now turns his camp-flavored maximalism to the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley. And while the result is profoundly uneven, the highs are too high (and too outrageous) to be missed.

‘Uncharted’ is #1 on Netflix, but is it any good?

If "Uncharted" was a treasure chest, here’s the assorted loot you’d find inside: Two slam-bang action set-pieces, some lackluster plotting, a charming leading man turn from Tom Holland, an ensemble of wasted supporting players and a woefully miscast Mark Wahlberg. Does that add up to a hidden treasure or a disappointing haul? Well, that lies in the eyes of the fortune hunter.

‘Sharp Stick’ review: Lena Dunham returns with a provocative comedy

"Sharp Stick," Lena Dunham's first feature since 2010’s "Tiny Furniture" (she made HBO’s "Girls" in the interim), certainly feels like the product of a woman reflecting on more than a decade in the spotlight, with all the praise, criticism and controversy that entails. Film critic Clint Worthington reviews this for-adults-only comedy.

Now playing: ‘Not Okay’ and ‘Vengeance,’ two provocative comedies about narcissism

B.J. Novak’s directorial debut “Vengeance” and Quinn Shephard’s sophomore feature “Not Okay" ask the same important question: In an era where so many people want to turn themselves into online brands, what’s the difference between personal fulfillment and successful brand management? FOX film critic Caroline Siede reviews these two timely, entertaining films.

August movie preview: A ‘Bullet Train’ and double the Idris Elba

As the summer blockbuster rush fades but before the fall awards season starts, you can expect oddball horror like A24’s “Bodies Bodies Bodies” and Peacock’s “They/Them,” family friendly flicks like “13: The Musical” and survival thrillers galore. Oh, and Idris Elba fights a lion in “Beast.”
