North Shore Fire officials called out to house fire in Brown Deer; three pets killed

BROWN DEER -- North Shore Fire officials on Sunday night, November 22nd were called out to a house fire in Brown Deer.It happened at a home near 53rd and Willow around 7:30 p.m.Crews arriving on scene reported heavy smoke coming from a single family home.The three occupants of the home reported they smelled smoke and went to investigate.Upon entering their kitchen, they were met with heavy, black smoke coming up the stairs from the basement.Fire crews initiated an aggressive attack on what was determined to be a basement fire.All of the occupants of the home were able to get out prior to the arrival of fire officials.

North Shore Fire: Two people had to be extricated after rollover crash in River Hills

RIVER HILLS -- North Shore Fire officials say two people had to be extricated from a vehicle after a rollover crash on Brown Deer Road near Deerwood in River Hills.It happened on Tuesday night, October 27th, shortly before 8:00 p.m.Fire officials say the vehicle went up onto the median, rolled over, and struck a small tree.

Three taken to the hospital after two-vehicle crash near 60th and Brown Deer Road

BROWN DEER -- Three people were taken to the hospital following a crash involving two vehicles that occurred near N. 60th Street and Brown Deer Road on Monday, August 10th.It happened around 6:00 p.m.North Shore Fire officials had to do some minor extrication on one door of one of the vehicles involved in the crash, due to the damage the car suffered.A 46-year-old woman, a 23-year-old woman, and a 15-year-old girl, all from the same vehicle, were injured.They were taken to the hospital for treatment of what are believed to be minor injuries.It is unclear what caused the crash.

Under control: Firefighters called out to Shorewood apartment complex

SHOREWOOD -- Firefighters were called out to a fire at a four-family apartment complex in Shorewood on Tuesday afternoon, June 2nd.The call came in just after 3:30 p.m. Firefighters were dispatched to the apartment building located near the intersection of Larkin Street and Capitol Drive in Shorewood.North Shore fire officials say no injuries have been reported.The fire was brought under control, and firefighters were then working on hot spots.

Fire officials: Unattended candle believed to have started fire at Shorewood apartment building

SHOREWOOD (WITI) -- North Shore Fire Department officials say it is believed an unattended candle caused a fire at an apartment building in Shorewood on Wednesday, May 13th.It happened in the 4400 block of Oakland Avenue just before 3:00 p.m.The fire was called in by a resident across the hall from the unit where the fire started.Fire crews arriving on scene found heavy fire and smoke coming from a third-floor window -- and the fire was brought under control.No one was injured.The tenant who lived in the apartment wasn't home when the fire occurred.

Buffalo Wild Wings at Bayshore Town Center damaged after vehicle crashed into it

GLENDALE (WITI) -- The Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant at Bayshore Town Center was damaged Monday, April 13th when a vehicle crashed into it.It happened just after 2:00 p.m.North Shore Fire/Rescue officials were called out to the restaurant and learned that a vehicle had left the roadway and struck the parking garage next to the restaurant's entrance.The crash caused significant damage to the structure, including destroying the men's bathroom stalls where a patron had just exited.Fortunately, nobody was seriously hurt.The driver was evaluated by paramedics on scene but refused transport to the hospital.
