Sheboygan man in custody after accidentally firing gunshots towards neighboring home

SHEBOYGAN -- A 40-year-old man is in police custody after accidentally firing two shots towards a neighboring home near 11th and High early morning Sunday, Aug. 26.According to police, officials received a call from a neighbor reporting that a gunshot struck a private residence around 1:54 a.m. Law enforcement arrived and determined that a neighbor had accidentally discharged two shots.

Dive Team searches Sheboygan River after report of person diving in, not resurfacing

SHEBOYGAN -- A report of a person diving in the Sheboygan River and not resurfacing prompted an emergency response from officials on Tuesday, May 22.The call came in to Sheboygan police shortly before 11 a.m.Officers, the Coat Guard and Sheboygan County Dive Team responded and began searching the land and water for anyone who may have been in the water -- and for possible witnesses who may have been someone go into the water.No evidence was found to substantiate that someone had entered the river or was in distress, police said.The search was called off, pending the development of additional information.PHOTO GALLERY

Romeo Torres sentenced to 1 1/2 years in prison for hiding a corpse of OD victim

SHEBOYGAN -- A Sheboygan County judge sentenced Romeo Torres on Thursday, May 9 to one-and-a-half years in prison and another five years of extended supervision, according to online court records.Torres pleaded no contest to a charge of hiding a corpse after the fatal drug overdose in November 2018.
