Waupun men indicted in connection with 3 bank robberies in April, June, August

ALLENTON -- Two men were indicted Tuesday, Sept. 10 in connection with three armed robberies that happened in April, June, and August at separate banks in Allenton (Washington County), Menomonee Falls (Waukesha County), and Glenbeulah (Sheboygan County).William Balgie, 35, and Justin Smith, 36, were indicted on three counts -- accused of taking, by force, violence, and intimidation, from the presence of a bank employee, U.S. currency belonging to and in the care, custody, and management of the National Exchange Bank and Trust in Allenton (April 8), Cornerstone Community Bank in Menomonee Falls (June 17), and National Exchange Bank and Trust in Glenbulah (Aug. 9) -- putting in jeopardy the life of a bank employee by the use of a dangerous weapon.Washington County sheriff's officials released surveillance photos on April 8 after the robbery at National Exchange Bank and Trust on Blueberry Road near Main Street in Allenton.

2 arrested, 2 sought after retail theft, chase, crash in Germantown 

GERMANTOWN -- Two Milwaukee men were arrested following a retail theft and pursuit involving a stolen vehicle in Germantown Sunday evening, Sept. 8.Police said around 7:30 p.m., following a report of a retail theft in progress at Walmart on Appleton Avenue, the suspect vehicle was located, and the driver fled officers -- headed southbound on Appleton Avenue.The driver crashed into an unoccupied parked vehicle, light poles, and various other objects along the roadway, police said.Two occupants, ages 33 and 26, were arrested.

Disabled vehicle leads to marijuana bust in Washington County, 2 taken into custody

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A hunch from a sheriff's deputy led to a pot bust in Washington County on Tuesday, Sept. 3."It started out just as many routine calls do, a call for service of a disabled vehicle," said Washington County Sheriff Martin Schulteis.According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, around 7:15 p.m. a deputy located two subjects, a 31-year-old Clintonville man and a 25-year-old Embarrass man, walking on Interstate 41 near Hillside Road in the Town of Polk."We offered to get them a tow truck, they thought that maybe they simply needed a jump start.

Officials search for convicted sex offender who cut off GPS bracelet in West Bend

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Washington County officials on Wednesday, Aug. 7 asked for information in an effort to locate a convicted sex offender who cut off his GPS monitoring device.According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office said, Brandon King, 31, was released from prison Aug. 6, and absconded the same day.

Developing: Crash closed all lanes of I-41 northbound in Slinger in Washington County

SLINGER -- A crash closed all lanes of I-41 northbound near Cedar Creek Road in Slinger in Washington County Tuesday night, Aug. 6.The left lane of I-41 southbound was also closed.Deputies were dispatched to the scene around 9:50 p.m. Upon arrival, they observed two people lying on I-41 -- one in traffic and on in a ditch.

Milwaukee woman, 27, accused of stealing from homeowner in Town of Erin

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A burglary suspect is now charged in Washington County.Prosecutors say 27-year-old Leticia Trevino of Milwaukee, went to the victim's home in the Town of Erin early Wednesday morning, July 17.According to a criminal complaint, Trevino asked the 65-year-old homeowner for directions.

Washington County: Theft of fireworks leads to high-speed pursuit, crash and 3 arrests

TOWN OF ADDISON -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office have three persons in custody after a nearly 15-mile pursuit that ended in a crash early Wednesday, July 3.Officials say shortly after 12 a.m., an employee of Phantom Fireworks in the Town of Addison reported the theft of a large amount of fireworks by the three suspects.
