WEST BEND -- West Bend police said on Christmas Eve a replacement baby Jesus at the Nativity scene at Old Settlers Park was stolen -- but thanks to an alert police officer, the woman who stole it was quickly apprehended.According to police, around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 24th, the officer saw the woman walking in the area near Main and Hickory carrying a baby jesus figurine.

80-year-old Hartford man seriously injured in crash on I-41 in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- An 80-year-old Hartford man was seriously injured in a crash involving a semi on Thursday, December 14th in Washington County.It happened around 8:30 p.m. on I-41 northbound just north of Pioneer Road in the Town of Polk.According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred when a northbound vehicle, driven by an 80-year-old City of Hartford man, began to merge into the slow lane and struck the rear portion of a semi-tractor trailer that was travelling northbound.The vehicle then lost control and rolled over.Another semi that was in the area at the time of the accident, stopped and provided scene safety by blocking the accident scene from oncoming traffic with his semi and setting up orange hazard triangles to warn oncoming motorists.The driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident.

Slinger police squad struck in head-on crash amid slick roads after Wednesday snowfall

SLINGER -- A Slinger police squad was struck head-on on Wednesday night, December 13th on Highway 41, a half-mile south of Highway 60 in Slinger.According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office the crash happened shortly before 11:30 p.m., when a vehicle slid off the roadway and struck the squad head-on, before drifting into the southbound lanes of Highway 41, where the striking vehicle was then struck by another vehicle.Highway 41 had to be shut down for about an hour so crews could clear the scene.

No criminal charges for volunteer firefighter who drove into bar in West Bend

WEST BEND -- A Washington County volunteer firefighter won't face any criminal charges after crashing his truck into a bar.It happened on December 3rd in West Bend.47-year-old Bradley Enright was cited for OWI, first offense, but the owners of Rally Time, the bar that was struck, have opted not to press charges.Enright was arrested after police say he drove his truck into a transformer and then struck the bar, knocking out power to hundreds and shutting down a lights festival.

Washington County: Man dies after vehicle falls on him in Newburg

NEWBURG -- Fire officials tell FOX6 News a man died after a vehicle he was working on collapsed and fell on top of him on Saturday December 9th.According to the Newburg Fire Department, it happened near Main and Monroe Streets in Newburg.Officials say the man was extricated from underneath the vehicle and lifesaving measures were performed but were unsuccessful.

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee officials report a male Milwaukee Fire Department heavy equipment operator was arrested for second-degree sexual assault by use of force against a female co-worker.The MFD employee was arrested at approximately 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2nd.According to MFD, the department arrested the man with the cooperation of the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Milwaukee Fire Department Administration.The Milwaukee Fire Department will not be commenting at this time, as it is an ongoing investigation.
