"Shoot it down?" Complaint came in 2 hours before blimp crash from farmer concerned for cattle

ERIN -- Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, June 20th confirmed they received a complaint from a property owner, who asked whether he could "shoot down" a blimp that later crashed at the U.S. Open at Erin Hills.Sheriff's officials said on June 15th, shortly before 9:00 a.m., they received a complaint from a property owner near the private airstrip where the aircraft launched.

While investigating theft of knives from Walmart, police find 100 in Cedarburg man's car

WEST BEND -- West Bend police on Sunday, June 18th arrested a man accused of stealing knives from Walmart, and police say they recovered 100 knives from his vehicle.According to police, around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, Walmart Loss Prevention officials called police to report a suspect in the store who had cut open several packages of knives, concealing them in his clothing.The 26-year-old Cedarburg man was located in the parking lot, and when officers patted him down, they recovered 18 knives, heroin and prescription medication he didn't have a valid prescription for.Officers found an additional 100 knives in the man’s vehicle -- all of them stolen from Walmart.The man was arrested for retail theft, possession of heroin and possession of prescription medication without a valid prescription.

Washington County: 54-year-old man hurt after crashing motorcycle in the Town of Barton

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A 54-year-old motorcyclist was flown by Flight for Life to treatment following a crash in the Town of Barton Friday afternoon, June 16th.According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, around 12:13 p.m., they were notified by passing motorists who discovered the victim laying in the road.Officials say the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Townline Road, when the operator applied the brakes and was ejected from the motorcycle.There is no reason to believe speed or alcohol were involved in the crash.The operator was a 54-year-old man from West Bend.

Motor home catches fire on Highway 41, driver cited

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A motor home burst into flames on Highway 41 in the Village of Richfield late Thursday, June 1st.Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office say the incident happened just after 11:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 41.When deputies arrived on the scene, the motor home became engulfed in flames, and the driver had left the scene.The Richfield Fire department was dispatched to the scene.

42-year-old motorcyclist seriously hurt after veering off road in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A 42-year-old man was seriously hurt after officials say he lost control of his motorcycle and veered into a ditch on County Road XX, in the Township of Farmington, Washington County.The crash occurred Thursday, May 25th shortly after 5:15 p.m.According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, initial investigation shows the 42-year-old man from Adell, Wisconsin, was operating a motorcycle westbound on County Road XX, when he skidded and lost control for an unknown reason.

Menomonee Falls man suffers life-threatening injuries in rollover crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A 25-year-old Menomonee Falls man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash that happened early Sunday, May 7th.The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the driver was ejected from the vehicle around 2:30 a.m. on Elmwood Road just east of Hillside in Hubertus.The Richfield Fire Department responded to the scene and immediately requested that Flight for Life respond and transport the driver to a hospital.The initial investigation indicates that the vehicle was east bound on Elmwood Road traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle left the roadway striking a retaining wall in the south ditch.

Washington County: 55-year-old man suffers injuries from flying glass after turkey hits windshield

Man flees from traffic stop after giving deputy ID in Town of Addison

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A 26-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of speeding away from a deputy during a traffic stop while they were issuing him citations for driving with a suspended license and having no proof of insurance Wednesday morning, April 19th.According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, shortly before 11 a.m., a deputy ran a license plate of a 2007 Ford Fusion on I-41 southbound near State Highway 33 in the Town of Addison.
