Standoff in West Bend leads to arrest of man accused of attacking brother; 5 guns, sword seized from home

WEST BEND -- A 22-year-old man was arrested after a standoff in West Bend -- accused of cutting his brother with a sword, and threatening him with a gun.West Bend police said a call came in from the 24-year-old brother shortly before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 16th.When police arrived at a home on Hans Street near Schoenhaar Drive, they found the 24-year-old man outside the home with a cut to his abdomen from the sword.

Investigation underway after inmate found dead in jail in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office said a 19-year-old Richfield man died Sunday, April 9th while in custody.Sheriff's officials said the man was arrested on Friday, April 7th by a deputy on one criminal charge.His death is now being investigated by the West Bend Police Department.The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is also conducting an internal investigation in regards to policy and procedures.

JACKSON -- A 19-year-old Sheboygan woman was seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 60 near Cedar Parkway in the Village of Jackson shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15th.Police say the woman failed to negotiate a roundabout, and her vehicle went airborne and landed in the ditch before rolling over several times.

I-41 closed near Slinger Tuesday night for removal of semis after chain-reaction crash: "It was chaos"

SLINGER -- I-41 was closed between State Highway 60 and State Highway 145 Tuesday night, March 14th to allow for the removal of four semis that remained along the roadway after Monday's chain-reaction crash that involved approximately 60 vehicles, as snow fell in SE Wisconsin.The roadway reopened Wednesday morning.The Washington County Sheriff's Office and Wisconsin State Patrol removed these vehicles.Interstate 41 southbound will be closed at State Highway 60 to all traffic starting at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.

"Couldn't stop:" Approximately 60 vehicles involved in chain-reaction crash on I-41 near Slinger

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Approximately 60 vehicles were involved in a massive, chain-reaction crash in Washington County as snow fell Monday, March 13th.According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, around 10:45 a.m., a chain-reaction, multiple-vehicle crash happened on I-41 between Sherman Road and Hillside Road in the Town of Polk.There were approximately 30 vehicles directly involved in the crash -- including eight semis, three heavy trucks (such as dump trucks and box-cargo trucks) and at least 12 passenger vehicles.Additionally, there were 30 vehicles that wound up leaving the roadway as a result of the initial chain-reaction crash.These vehicles weren't damaged.

GERMANTOWN -- The Germantown Police Department is trying to identify the driver of a stolen vehicle that was left abandoned at a Germantown Gas station.The male driver of the vehicle and his female passenger were captured in the attached surveillance images.The driver can be seen wearing a dark sweatshirt (or long sleeve shirt) that has a very distinct logo on the back.

Washington County authorities save 2 overdose victims with Narcan

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to two drug overdose incidents in moving vehicles over the weekend.The first occurred Friday, March 10th around 9:00 p.m. when a subject was called in as driving erratic on northbound on I-41.Officials say a patrol deputy stopped the driver, a 35-year-old City of Fond du Lac woman, near County Highway K and observed that the passenger was experiencing a medical emergency.
