52-year-old man arrested for third OWI offense after crash involving delivery truck

RICHFIELD -- Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office say a 52-year-old man was arrested for his third drunk driving offense after a crash on December 14th in Richfield.It happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. near Hillside Road and Maple Grove Road.Sheriff's officials say an initial report indicated the man was trapped in his vehicle as a result of the collision.A deputy arrived on scene and instructed the man to roll down the window.The deputy then reached into the car, unlocked the door and assisted the “trapped” man out of his car.During the initial interview with the man, the deputy noted numerous signs of intoxication.

WEST BEND -- A 39-year-old West Bend man has been arrested after police say he hid a video camera in the heating vent of his girlfriend's 20-year-old daughter's bedroom.According to police, the 20-year-old West Bend woman and her mother called police to report a finding of a suspicious device in the heating vent of the 20-year-old's bedroom.

Man arrested, accused of walking away without paying after cab ride from Lambeau to Richfield

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office say a man was arrested on theft charges after allegedly failing to pay for a cab ride Sunday, December 4th from Lambeau Field to Richfield.Sheriff's officials say they responded to the Richfield Truck Stop around 5:30 p.m. after receiving a report from a taxi driver that a customer had left without paying the fare.The taxi driver, a 59-year-old man from Green Bay, advised he transported an individual from Lambeau to Richfield, and after arriving at the Richfield Truck Stop, the customer went inside under the guise of retrieving money from the ATM.Instead, Sheriff's officials say the customer slipped out a back door.The reported taxi fare was $475.60.Sheriff's deputies spent about an hour tracking him for about a half-mile in the snow.The customer, a 24-year-old Slinger man, was found inside a bar in downtown Richfield.

Bizarre: Washington Co. inmate evaluated after "inserting candy bar into his rectum" in effort to "kill himself"

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, November 29th shared details regarding a bizarre incident that happened over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.Sheriff's officials said on Saturday afternoon, November 26th, a "straight time" inmate contacted a corrections officer -- stating he had "inserted a candy bar into his rectum -- and couldn't get it out."The Sheriff's Office transported the 25-year-old inmate to a medical facility.He was evaluated by medical staff and mental health professionals after he told staff he "did it in an effort to kill himself."The inmate was then transported back to jail after receiving medical clearance -- placed under a "rigid safety plan."The deputies assigned to this call were busy from about 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Washington County deputies praised for "saving man from suicide by cop"

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office are praising deputies who were able to "save an individual from himself" -- taking a 46-year-old Jackson man into custody on Monday, November 21st without harming him.It happened just after 2:00 p.m., when deputies were contacted by an acquaintance of the man who reported he was texting suicidal messages while driving somewhere in southeastern Wisconsin.Deputies looked for the man for more than three hours without success.An initial investigation suggested he may have taken pills, and was in possession of as many as four guns.Just after 8:00 p.m., family members located his vehicle in a secluded, marshy area on his property.Sheriff's officials said deputies arrived, and located the man sitting in tall grass near his vehicle.

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a vehicle ended up in the river early Sunday morning, November 6th.It happened near the intersection of Newark Drive and Lighthouse Lane in the Town of Barton.Sheriff's officials say the vehicle was located unoccupied in the middle of the Milwaukee River.Area residents reported observing a man and woman arguing on the shoreline after the crash.An investigation revealed the vehicle was headed westbound when the operator failed to stop at the stop sign and negotiate a small curve in the roadway before ending up in the river.The investigation is ongoing.
