BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police need your help identifying a suspect accused of stealing merchandise from the "Name of the Game" store inside Brookfield Square Mall.It happened on Friday, March 9 around 11:15 a.m.According to police, the suspect, a black man in his 20s, entered the store carrying a duffel bag, and indicated he had recently gotten "a nice tax refund," and he wanted to buy his wife and children some shirts and other merchandise.

Brookfield police: Suspects steal credit cards from Panera Bread customer, use them to buy gift cards

BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police are looking to track down two people who allegedly stole credit cards from a person dining at Panera Bread -- and then used them to buy gift cards.The theft happened on January 31st at the Panera Bread on Calhoun Road.Brookfield police say the credit cards were used at Target and Pick 'N Save in Waukesha, to purchase large amounts of gift cards.Police say the female suspect was with an African-American male, who was heavier set with pierced ears.

BROOKFIELD --  Brookfield police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man they say stole over $200 worth of merchandise from the Pick 'n Save store located on Capitol Drive.According to police, around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30 a male suspected took approximately $224.96 worth of Tide Pods, Dove body wash, and Secret deodorant from Pick 'n Save.The suspect left the store in a tan or silver minivan with a partial plate of 447.

Brookfield mother, stepfather convicted after locking 13-year-old child with autism in basement

BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield parents, accused of locking their 13-year-old child who has autism in an unfinished basement with no toilet or sink have been convicted.Patrick Keller, 50, and Alicyn Keller, 44, were found guilty by a jury on Friday, Jan. 26 -- convicted on three counts of causing mental harm to a child as party to a crime.They will be sentenced on March 1.Police records show the Waukesha County Department of Health and Human Services knew the 13-year-old child with autism was being forced to live in a cold basement at least a year before she was removed from her home."The systems and people who are supposed to protect the most vulnerable members of our community failed this teenager, multiple times and at every level," says Liz Field, President of Autism Speaks. "It is important to investigate how this inhumane situation continued, despite numerous reports and visible signs of neglect and abuse."According to New Berlin police reports from 2012-2014, WCDHHS was notified at least 10 times about concerns police, neighbors and teachers had about how the child was being treated at home.In April of 2016, the child's mother and stepfather were charged with child neglect for allegedly locking the teen who has autism in an unfinished basement with no toilet or sink, forcing her to wear diapers and refusing to allow her to sit on furniture.

BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police are looking for a well-dressed thief accused of stealing an expensive suit coat.It happened Monday, December 11th at Richard Bennett Tailor, inside Brookfield Square Mall.According to police, shortly before 2:30 p.m., a white male suspect entered the store, and after about 25 minutes, he selected a suit coat, rolled it up and concealed it in a shopping bag.The suit coat is described as a Ravazzolo brand with a Houndstooth pattern in charcoal gray.

1 in custody following pursuit that happened 2 days after carjacking in Brookfield Pick 'n Save parking lot

BROOKFIELD -- One suspect was arrested after a pursuit that happened two days after a carjacking in the Pick 'n Save parking lot near 124th and Capitol in Milwaukee.According to Brookfield police, on Saturday, November 11th, around 8:15 p.m. a victim said she returned to her vehicle and shortly after sitting down, a black male "pointed a large black gun at her," and demanded she get out of her vehicle and leave the keys inside.When she exited, the victim said she saw a silver or white four-door vehicle occupied by three black males.Both vehicles fled eastbound on Capitol Drive at a high rate of speed.Officers in the area were unable to locate any vehicles matching the descriptions provided.On Monday night, an officer in the area of 108th and Hampton believed they'd observed the victim's stolen car, but lost it in the area.

Gift cards for bail: Elderly woman scammed into buying $4,000 in Target gift cards

BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police are asking for the public’s help identifying three suspects in connection with a report of fraud that targeted an elderly woman.According to officials, police took a report of a fraud in which the elderly victim bought $4,000 worth of Target gift cards at the instruction of an unknown male who claimed to be her nephew.The suspect stated he was involved in a crash and needed bail money--  but she had to provide the bail money in gift cards.Police have released photos of the suspects that redeemed the gift cards.
