62-year-old Mukwonago woman pronounced dead at scene of crash on I-43

NEW BERLIN -- A 62-year-old Mukwonago woman died in a crash on I-43 northbound in New Berlin Wednesday, Oct. 17.It happened just after 2 p.m. near Moorland Road and involved four vehicles.Waukesha County sheriff's officials, New Berlin police, the New Berlin Fire Department and Wisconsin State Patrol responded.No one else was hurt.I-43 northbound was closed for several hours as a result of the crash.

3 years probation for woman accused in connection with 3 vehicle theft incidents

NEW BERLIN -- A New Berlin woman accused of stealing or attempting to steal vehicles in three separate incidents to support a heroin addiction has been sentenced to probation.Katarina Panagiotopoulos, 23, on Thursday, Sept. 27 pleaded guilty to one felony and one misdemeanor: attempted taking, driving a vehicle without consent and entry into locked vehicle.She was then sentenced to serve 18 months in prison and 18 months extended supervision on the first charge -- which was stayed.

NEW BERLIN -- The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), in conjunction with the New Berlin Police Department, continues to urge the public to report information related to the explosions on the afternoon of Sept. 17 near Coffee and Woelfel in New Berlin.According to a news release Monday, Sept. 24 from the ATF, investigators are looking specifically for information related to individuals who may have been operating a vehicle on Sept. 17, around 4 p.m. in the area where the explosion happened.
