MILWAUKEE - A line of storms was expected to bring strong wind gusts, heavy rain, large hail and possibly tornadoes to southeast Wisconsin on Wednesday, Aug. 11. This, a day after severe storms caused widespread damage across southeast Wisconsin and knocked out power for more than 100,000 We Energies customers.
Wednesday's storms prompted severe thunderstorm warnings for Kenosha, Milwaukee, Racine, Walworth and Waukesha counties. A tornado watch was issued earlier Wednesday for Dodge and Fond du Lac counties. It was canceled around 6:30 p.m.
Additionally, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory until 7 p.m. for southeast Wisconsin. That was allowed to expire Wednesday evening as scheduled.
