MILWAUKEE - 2024 is about to wrap up and Milwaukee is currently ranked as the warmest year on record so far with an average temperature of 52.9°F. This time period is from Jan. 1 through Dec. 29.
While there are only a few days left prior to the new year, Milwaukee will take one of the top spots for the warmest years on record.
Since Jan. 1, 2024, there has been 4.26" of rain above average. Since July 1, there has been a 3.60" deficit of snow. Warmer temperatures take part in the higher amounts of rain and less snow in 2024.
The last days of 2024 will have warmer temperatures above freezing, but a polar air mass is on the way to kick off 2025.

Subfreezing air returns and continues to fall 10°F below average for the first few days of the new year.
If you're a fan of mild temperatures, unfortunately there is not much hope for them to return. The Climate Prediction Center's 6-10 day outlook is expecting Jan. 4 through Jan. 8 to be below average.
The Climate Prediction Center's 8-14 Day outlook is expecting Jan. 6 through Jan. 12 to be below average. The cold looks to be here to stay for the start of the new year!
