Tornado warning canceled for Walworth County

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for southwestern Walworth County and southeastern Rock County in south-central Wisconsin Monday afternoon, Aug. 9. A secondary warning was issued for northwestern Walworth County until 4:15 p.m.

The warning ended up being canceled early, with the storm weakening as it rolled through Walworth County, according to the FOX6 Weather Experts.

The NWS said around 3:30 p.m. Monday, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Darien, or near Delavan, moving northeast at 20 mph.

Police in Clinton said there were reports of a tornado touchdown near County Road X and Butterfly Road.
