Wisconsin dense fog advisory Thursday into Friday; low visibility for drivers

The National Weather Service has extended its Thursday dense fog advisory for southeast Wisconsin into Friday, Dec. 27.

It was extended until 6 a.m. Friday for southern counties, including Milwaukee, Waukesha, Kenosha, Walworth, Racine and Rock counties. For northern counties, including Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Columbia, Sauk, Dodge, Ozaukee and Washington counties, it is now in effect until noon.

According to the NWS, low visibility – a quarter-mile or less in some areas – could make driving conditions hazardous. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of distance between vehicles.

Drizzle continues through Thursday evening.
