Beaver Dam OWI crash, injured driver flown to hospital

A Grafton man was flown to a hospital after the Dodge County Sheriff's Office said he was driving while impaired and crashed on Friday afternoon, Jan. 31.

The single-car crash happened on State Highway 33 near Hidden Valley Drive in Beaver Dam. The sheriff's office said the 19-year-old driver, who was the only person in the car, was arrested for OWI and flown to a hospital.

Dodge County stabbing; man's thumb nearly severed during argument

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is investigating a stabbing that occurred in the Town of Herman on Jan. 28.

According to the sheriff's office, an investigation thus far determined the car was speeding, and multiple 911 callers reported reckless driving. The car, at one point, lost control on a curve, went into a ditch, hit a row of trees and overturned.

Beaver Dam firefighters had to extricate the trapped driver. He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries before he was flown to a trauma center via Flight for Life.

The sheriff's office said excessive speed and alcohol use were the primary factors in the crash.

Driver identification

On Sunday, Feb. 2, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office identified the driver as 19-year-old Caiden Luther from Grafton.
