Hayley Spitler

Hayley Spitler is an award-winning and Emmy-nominated journalist who is thrilled to be back in Wisconsin. She joined the FOX6 WakeUp team as the morning breaking news anchor in August 2025.

Spitler came to Milwaukee after working at the FOX affiliate in Greenville, South Carolina. While there, she launched 'The Midday News' in January 2023 and worked as a reporter covering breaking news in the morning. She has also worked as an evening anchor/reporter for the NBC and FOX affiliates in Eau Claire and La Crosse, Wisconsin. 

Spitler is a Chicago native who graduated Cum Laude with a Multimedia Journalism degree from Loyola University Chicago. While a student, she got to travel and cover the Loyola Rambler MBB team's Cinderella-run to the Final Four during March Madness (Yes-- Sister Jean!)

Over the course of her career, she's covered the devastating destruction of Hurricane Helene in the Carolinas, the deadly shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, GA, the Alex Murdaugh murder trial, the global Microsoft outage, and the largest wildfire in SC Upstate history. She's also had the chance to interview then-VP Mike Pence twice one-on-one, dance with Blooper on the field at Truist Park, learn choreography from SIX: The Musical, and interview celebrities ranging from Big Time Rush, Trey Kennedy, David Foster and more. 

She believes everyone has a story worth telling and it is truly her greatest honor to be trusted to share them. Spitler loves finding light in darkness and highlighting the people in our community who are doing incredible things despite hard circumstances. 

When not at work, Spitler loves spending time with her pup Zobrist (yes-- he is named after the Cubs WS MVP...) You can also find her jamming out to the Jonas Brothers, watching a Cubs game, going to the latest theatre show, occasionally running a half marathon at Disney World, and keeping the pulse on all things pop culture.
