MILWAUKEE (AP) — Akeem Springs scored 18 points and led four players into double figure scoring as Milwaukee rolled past Youngstown State 77-62 in a Horizon League contest Wednesday night.After DJ Cole hit a 3-pointer to give Youngstown State (9-11, 0-4 Horizon League) a 10-6 lead four minutes into the game, the Panthers went on an 11-0 run capped by a Springs dunk to take a 17-10 lead and never looked back.Milwaukee (6-12, 1-3) led by nine at intermission, 34-25, and cruised to its first Horizon League victory of the season.Springs shot 8 of 10 from the field, with both misses coming from beyond the arc.

UW Green Bay shoots past UW Milwaukee 79-63

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Keifer Sykes tied his career high with 34 points on Friday night and Green Bay beat Milwaukee 79-63.Sykes outscored Milwaukee 22-19 in the first 16 minutes including a stretch of eight straight field goals.

Panthers can't keep up with Cleveland State in Horizon League opener

CLEVELAND (AP) — Trey Lewis poured in 27 points and Cleveland State pulled away in the second half to defeat Milwaukee 84-57 in the Horizon League opener for both teams Friday night.The Vikings (7-8, 1-0) trailed by three at the half, but stormed away in the final 13:41, closing the game on a 42-14 run.

MKE Sports, UW-Milwaukee team up in effort to build outdoor baseball stadium

OAK CREEK (WITI) -- MKE Sports & Entertainment, the business group that owns and operates the Milwaukee Wave and The Rock Sports Complex, announced on Monday, December 29th that it is partnering with the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in an effort to build a multi-functional 4,000-seat outdoor baseball stadium in Oak Creek by 2016.Officials with MKE Sports say the new stadium would host the Milwaukee baseball team, a new independent minor league baseball team, along with outdoor entertainment and community events.

Four suspects sought following armed robbery near UWM campus

UW-Milwaukee chancellor search narrowed down to three candidates

UWM officials meet with Bucks president to talk about the future of the Panthers Arena

Michael Marzion, former UWM police chief, then police captain has now been fired

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- FOX6 News has learned UW-Milwaukee's former police chief, who was demoted on August 25th to the position of police captain, has now been fired by the university.Marzion was removed from his position as UW-Milwaukee's police chief on August 25th -- as the result of an investigation into communications Marzion had with a UWM student earlier this year.Because of the rules governing Classified Service employees, Marzion returned to the position of police captain in the department, a job he held prior to being appointed chief.
