MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has released its report on a single engine plane crash into Lake Michigan on Saturday, July 27th.The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation after a 1975 Piper single engine plane crashed into Lake Michigan on Saturday, July 27th.

Human remains pulled from Lake Michigan near Blue Harbor Resort

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY (WITI) -- Sheboygan County Sheriff's officials say human remains were recovered from Lake Michigan on Monday morning, July 15th.A recreational boater reportedly spotted the body about one mile off-shore, east of Blue Harbor Resort.The remains were recovered with the assistance of the Sheboygan County Dive/Rescue Team and taken to shore.Both the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office's Water Safety Unit and Dive Team were on Lake Michigan, performing training operations at the time of the incident.The remains have not yet been identified.

31-year-old Kenosha man missing after swimming in Lake Michigan

KENOSHA (WITI) -- Kenosha Police Department officers responded with Kenosha Fire Department rescue personnel and US Coast Guard officials to the North Lighthouse Pier in regards to a swimmer in distress Monday, June 17th.According to officials,  31-year-old Benjamin McCarter from Kenosha had been swimming with friends off the North Lighthouse Pier when he began to struggle about 10 to 15 feet away from the east end of the pier.Authorities say it appears that the McCarter was having difficulty swimming against the waves, which had gotten rough.

French crews take to Lake Michigan in search of shipwreck
