Seventh-graders learn about the business of basketball at BMO Harris Bradley Center

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, March 14th taught seventh-graders how to run a basketball team.The Bucks invited hundreds of seventh-graders from Milwaukee Public Schools to tour the BMO Harris Bradley Center and observe different career paths in the sports business world.Those kids got to see every facet of the arena, from food services, to security, to event presentation, and other things that go into running a professional basketball team.Peter Feigin, Bucks president, said the earlier the better when it comes to this type of hands-on learning."The earlier we expose kids to what the possibility of professional careers are other than possibly being a professional athlete or doing things that are really out of the realm of reality and really get them motivated to do things that can really be possible which is having a business career in sports which is something they could love," Feigin said.Feigin also said this is one way the Bucks can fulfill their responsibility of giving back to the community.PHOTO GALLERY

Bucks' O.J. Mayo out for the season after tripping on stairs, fracturing ankle

Mayo suffered a fractured right ankle on Thursday morning, March 10th and will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season, General Manager John Hammond said.Mayo accidentally tripped descending his stairs at home.In 41 games (24 starts) this season, Mayo has averaged 7.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.17 steals in 26.6 minutes per contest.

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks say Steve Novak, a free agent forward signed just last Monday, February 22nd is out for the season.Novak suffered an injury during the fourth quarter of the Bucks matchup with the Detroit Pistons Saturday night, February 27th at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.On Sunday, Bucks officials said on Twitter Novak has suffered a sprained MCL and he is expected to miss the remainder of the season.The Bucks signed Novak on February 21st -- requesting waivers on forward Chris Copeland in a related transaction.
