WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A Richfield woman is accused of driving drunk with her young children in her vehicle -- and officials say she was uncooperative during and after her arrest.Washington County Sheriff's officials say on September 23rd, shortly before 8:00 a.m., the woman's vehicle rear-ended another vehicle in front of her that was making a left turn onto Hubertus Road from State Highway 164.The force of the collision pushed the woman's vehicle 130 degrees southeast of the intersection.The woman failed field sobriety tests, and was arrested.

Seventh OWI offense: After crashing into swamp, Hartford man asked deputies to take him to jail

HARTFORD -- A Hartford man was arrested for his seventh OWI offense after crashing into a swampy area in Washington County on October 21st.It happened in the area near Arthur Road and Highway 83 shortly after 9:00 in the morning.Washington County Sheriff's officials say a citizen saw the crash and reported it.When the first deputy arrived, the 50-year-old Hartford man hid in the swamp -- only coming out after a second deputy arrived.

FRANKLIN/WEST BEND -- As the "creepy clown" phenomenon continues to sweep the nation (and world), at least two police departments in southeastern Wisconsin are reporting clown related incidents from over the weekend -- and issuing warnings.Franklin police say there were two incidents involving people "wearing scary clown masks in public."The first happened Friday night, October 7th at the Franklin High School football game, and involved a 15-year-old student running out onto the field during the game while wearing a "scary clown" mask.The second happened Saturday after midnight, near S. 35th Street and Ryan Road.

WEST BEND -- West Bend police say a charge of disorderly conduct has been referred to juvenile authorities after a seventh-grade Badger Middle School student allegedly represented herself as a clown, and sent messages to at least six different classmates.According to police, in the messages, the "clown" told the students where they lived and went to school, and included statements like "if you see a red balloon, just know I was there," and "do you want to play?"These messages alarmed and disturbed students.A father of one of the students who received these messages was particularly alarmed due to the recent news regarding clowns across the country.

18-year-old Campbellsport man taken into custody, accused of stealing mail

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office took an 18-year-old Campbellsport man into custody early Thursday morning, September 29th in connection with a theft of mail investigation.According to officials, the suspect is currently being investigated for the thefts of mail out of mailboxes in the Towns of Farmington, Barton and West Bend -- although that geographic area could expand as the investigation progresses.The investigation began Tuesday morning, September 27th after the sheriff's office was called out to a residence on Beaver Dam Road in the Town of Barton for the report of a theft from a mailbox.The homeowner says they heard a loud exhaust at the end of the driveway and then saw a gold van back up towards the mailbox.
