BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- For the first time since he was tased and separated from the valuable Stradivarius violin, Frank Almond is set to take the stage with the now famous instrument on Monday, February 10th in Brookfield -- and it's the hottest ticket in town."It`s going to be a significant concert experience because of everything that`s happened," Jonathan Winkle, Executive Director for the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center in Brookfield told FOX6 News on Sunday.

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- The Von Maur department store is one step closer to coming to the Town of Brookfield.The town's Community Development Authority voted unanimously to approve creation of the TIF District that would give the formal okay for the store to break ground.It's a $125 million development project.The town would put over $43 million toward the project.The Town Board will vote on the proposal on February 18th.

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- Brookfield police are looking into two possible cases of child enticement, and now, a Brookfield family says their daughter may have been targeted on Monday, October 14th.The first incident was reported last Thursday evening, and a second incident was reported on Saturday morning."Just because you think it's a safe neighborhood doesn't mean it's necessarily safe," one parent told FOX6 News."To have children stalked -- that's the worst kind of human being out there," Kathy Albers said.Now that the third possible incident has been reported, parents are on edge."Now it has someone scaring kids, scaring parents, scaring families, scaring grandparents," Albers said.A woman who asked to remain anonymous told FOX6 News that on Monday, her daughter was playing in the front yard when an older man driving a white van slowed down."When my daughter came into view he slowed down -- like literally slowed down really quickly," the girl's mother told FOX6 News.The van then parked across the street.

Neighbors upset over plan for Brookfield quarry
BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- People in the city of Brookfield got a closer look Wednesday night, June 19th at a plan to fill a former quarry with waste from highway construction projects.The area in question is about 85 acres south of Burleigh and east of Lilly Road.Currently, the old quarry is filled with water, and the area is undeveloped.Clean fill from places like the Zoo Interchange Project would fill the area.Once that's done, the area could be developed into housing units.Brookfield's mayor says there's a lot to consider before it's all approved -- and neighbors don't want it."The numbers have been run that we're going to have a truck every four minutes six days a week 12 hours a day bringing a substantial amount of landfill," Brookfield resident Jack Berlinski said."It's not a done deal.

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- Brookfield police were called to a business near 124th and Townsend on Tuesday afternoon, May 28th to deal with what appeared to be a suspicious package.The call came after officials say a disgruntled employee, a woman, dropped off a package at the business and claimed it had a dangerous substance inside.Police and fire officials examined the contents of the package and do not believe it is hazardous.About six people at the business left on their own accord as a precaution.
