Packers need shovelers for second day of snow removal Friday morning at Lambeau Field
GREEN BAY -- With the significant snowfall accumulation this week (more than a foot fell in Green Bay on Monday, December 28th) Lambeau Field will be in need of a second day of snow removal Friday morning, January 1st, in advance of Sunday’s regular season finale between the Packers and Vikings.More than 800 shovelers took part in Thursday’s snow removal process, but some additional removal is needed, as well as work to spread ice melt throughout the stadium.The Packers are in need of workers – as many as 250 – to assist with the process.Those interested are asked to report to the Mills Fleet Farm Gate on Lambeau Field’s west side, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Friday, January 1st, and continuing through the day as needed.Shovelers need to be at least 15 years old and will receive $10 per hour, with payment to be made immediately upon completion of their work.

GREEN BAY — A sales tax imposed in Brown County about 15 years ago is coming to an end.The half-percent sales tax went into effect in January 2001 to pay for Lambeau Field renovations after voters approved it in a referendum.WLUK-TV reports the tax ends Wednesday.The revenue was used to pay for $160 million in bonding for the $295 million renovation of Lambeau Field in 2003.
