Admirals bitten by the Wolves at home, 8-4

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Admirals allowed a season-high eight goals and lost for the ninth time in their past ten games, falling to the Chicago Wolves 8-4 in Amtrak Rivalry Action Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.Despite the cold streak the Ads still hold down the seventh spot in the Western Conference playoff race with 74 points, one point up on eighth place Hamilton and three ahead of ninth place Toronto and Chicago.Milwaukee will look for revenge tomorrow night as the Ads and Wolves finish a home-and-home series at the Allstate Arena.It was the Wolves who got on the board first, scoring a shorthanded tally just 3:09 into the game when Nathan Longpre found a streaking Jeremy Welsh alone in the slot and Welsh lifted a backhand top shelf past the blocker of Ads goal Marek Mazanc.Pontus Aberg leveled the score for Milwaukee at the seven minute mark of the opening stanza.

Admirals saw three-goal lead fade into 4-3 shootout loss to San Antonio Rampage

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Admirals saw a three-goal lead fade into a 4-3 shootout loss to the San Antonio Rampage Wednesday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.The Ads still earned a point in the loss, moving their season total to 74, good for seventh place in the Western Conference.The goal scoring started quickly for Milwaukee as Joe Pendenza gathered a loose puck behind the Rampage net and pirouetted his way in front of San Antonio goaltender Michael Houser.

Admirals struggle to overcome early first period deficit against OKC Barons, fall 5-1

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Ads got off to a slow start Sunday afternoon, March 8th at the BMO Harris Bradley Center and struggled to overcome an early first period deficit against the Oklahoma City Barons before eventually falling 5-1.The Barons got on the board first when the Admirals turned the puck over in their zone and Jason Williams was able to tap in a deflected shot on goal by Dillon Simpson at 3:46 in the first period giving Oklahoma City an early 1-0 lead.The Barons extended their lead with 4:27 remaining in the first period when Andrew Miller made a pass from the near circle to Bogdan Yakimov who slapped in his 10th goal of the season past Marek Mazanec.The Barons scored once again when C.J. Ludwig fired a shot from the right corner that Mazanec was unable to control and bounced off his skate which allowed C.J. Stretch to chip in his eighth goal of the season to extend Oklahoma City's lead to 3-0 at 4:46 in the second period.The Admirals cut into the Barons advantage when Viktor Arvidsson received a fantastic pass from Johan Alm in the middle of the zone.

Stalberg hat trick lifts Admirals past Griffins

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Viktor Stalberg scored the game’s final two goals in a span of 15.4 seconds and recorded his second hat trick of the season to stun the Griffins and lift the Ads to a 3-2 overtime victory Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.The Ads struck first to take a 1-0 lead at 4:02 in the first period when Viktor Arvidsson and Stalberg got past the Grand Rapids defense.

Admirals cannot overcome Wild, lose 4-2

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Ruslan Fedotenko scored two goals to lead the Iowa Wild to 4-2 win over the Admirals Saturday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.The loss was the third straight for Milwaukee, who now find themselves in a three-way tie for first place in the Midwest Division with Rockford and Grand Rapids.It was a defensive battle during the first period between the Admirals and the Wild with neither team scoring in the opening frame.The Wild broke the scoreless tie at 3:09 in the 2nd when Brady Brassart snuck through the Admirals zone and received a pass in front of the goal from Kurtis Gabriel.

ROSEMONT (WITI) -- Forward Pat Cannone scored the overtime winner to lead there Chicago Wolves to a 3-2 overtime win over the Milwaukee Admirals Wednesday night, February 11th.During 3-on-3 play in the overtime session, Cannone was able to skate to the bottom of the left circle and snap a shot past Admirals goalie Marek Mazanec at 5:46.The Admirals did earn a point with the overtime loss and moved into second place overall in the Western Conference, three points behind Oklahoma City.The Wolves got on the board first with a Terry Broadhurst power play goal at 11:18 of the first period.
