Sheriff's officials: Afternoon crash leads to backups on I-94 SB

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- One person was hurt in a crash Sunday afternoon, August 24th on I-94 SB, according to a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.It happened just before noon on I-94 SB at Oakwood.Sheriff's officials say one person suffered minor injuries.There is no word at this time on what may have caused this crash.The crash was causing backups for folks headed southbound on I-94.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke calls out one of his captains after she's arrested for driving drunk in Minnesota."Normally, I wouldn`t, but this is too serious to not say something about," said Sheriff Clarke.According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, an officer in Red Wing, Minnesota stopped a vehicle around 2:30 a.m. because it did not have tail lights on.

Arrested in traffic stop, he posted bail -- but one day later, he's arrested AGAIN!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says a man arrested during a traffic stop in which Sheriff David Clarke took part, posted bail on Monday, August 11th -- and one day later, he has been arrested again!It was last Thursday, August 7th when Sheriff Clarke pursued a vehicle for several miles and performed a traffic stop after seeing the vehicle attempting to cut off and run another car off the road.Sheriff Clarke called dispatch for Milwaukee Police Department officers to come to the scene at N. 76th Street and Good Hope Road.

Sheriff Clarke initiates traffic stop; 30-year-old Milwaukee man arrested in domestic violence incident

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke on Thursday night, August 7th took part in a traffic stop during which the Sheriff's Office says a domestic violence incident was in progress.It happened shortly before 7:00 p.m.The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says Sheriff Clarke saw a car attempting multiple times to cut off and run another car off the road near N. 51st Street and Good Hope Road.Sheriff Clarke pursued the cars -- one of which did not have registration plates and was dodging in and out of traffic, according to the Sheriff's Office.On N. 76th Street, just south of Good Hope Road, the Sheriff's Office says Sheriff Clarke pulled the unregistered vehicle over -- asking the driver why he was pursuing the other vehicle and trying to run it off the road.The Sheriff's Office says a 30-year-old Milwaukee man told Sheriff Clarke his girlfriend was in the other vehicle -- saying if he would have known the sheriff was nearby, he wouldn't have done it.The 30-year-old man told the Sheriff his license was suspended -- when Sheriff Clarke requested it.

Arrested: Brookfield woman taken into custody after striking Sheriff's squad on I-94

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials say a Sheriff's deputy's squad car was struck and the deputy was injured early Saturday morning, July 12th.It happened around 5:00 a.m. Saturday on westbound I-94 just east of Highway 100.Sheriff's officials say the squad was stopped at the scene of the crash -- and had its lights activated.

UPDATE: Suspects in alleged assault on bus turned themselves in

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Several of the suspects involved in the assault on passengers of a Milwaukee County Transit System bus from Summerfest to a Park and Ride lot have turned themselves in to authorities.Officials say early on Monday, June 30th, the victims boarded the bus at the Summerfest grounds.
