BEAVER DAM -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials hope you can help them identify and apprehend an armed robbery suspect.Sheriff's officials say the BP gas station on Madison Street in Beaver Dam was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday morning, December 8th.It happened just after 8:00 a.m.The suspect displayed a weapon and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, officials say.He then fled on foot, and was last seen headed westbound on Lake Crest Drive in Beaver Dam.A $500 reward is being offered by the owners of the gas station -- for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator.

DODGE COUNTY -- The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that customers of the four major wireless carriers (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon & T-Mobile), along with US Cellular and Cricket, can now send text messages to 911 in Dodge County.There are more than 6,000 PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points) in the nation and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is one out of approximately 900 of those centers to voluntarily offer this new service.While Text-to-911 is now available, it is not intended to replace a voice call to 911.A voice call to 911 is still the quickest, most efficient way to reach emergency help.Text-to-911 is intended for:

Inmate at Waupun Correctional transferred to another facility after assault on correctional officer

WAUPUN -- An investigation is underway after an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at the Waupun Correctional facility late last week.Dodge County Sheriff's officials responded to the Waupun Correctional Institution on Friday evening, October 30th for an assault on a correctional officer by an inmate.A preliminary investigation revealed an inmate assaulted the correctional officer -- and staff members were able to quickly respond and secure the inmate, and tend to the officer's injuries.The officer was treated at Waupun Hospital and released.The inmate has been transferred to another DOC institution.This incident continues to be investigated by the Dodge County Sheriff's Office.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates on this developing story.

Fatal crash: One dead, two others hurt in incident involving farm equipment in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials say one person was killed, and two others were hurt (one of them seriously) after a crash on Wednesday evening, October 21st.It happened around 7:00 p.m. on State Highway 73 near the intersection of Concord Road in the Township of Westford.A preliminary investigation indicates a farm tractor was towing a corn picker and gravity box traveling south on State Highway 73 and began a left turn -- just as a southbound Ford SUV began to pass the farm equipment on the left.As the crash occurred, a Dodge Charger was traveling south on State Highway 73 and struck the gravity box.A passenger in the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene.The driver of the Ford was severely injured and flown from the scene by Theda Star helicopter to UW Hospital in Madison.The driver of the tractor was severely injured and flown from the scene by Flight for Life helicopter to UW Hospital in Madison.The driver of the Dodge was uninjured in the crash.Names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family members.The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.

20-year-old man struck and killed by train near Highway 49, Windhover Road in Lomira

TOWN OF LOMIRA -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials say a 20-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a train in the Township of Lomira on Wednesday night, October 7th.It happened around 9:00 p.m. on the railroad tracks near State Highway 49 and Windhover Road.A preliminary investigation has revealed the man was on the tracks when he was struck by the train, which was headed south.The circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation.The name of the victim hasn't been released.The Dodge County Medical Examiner's Office and the Canadian National Railroad police are assisting with this investigation.Earlier Wednesday night, crews were on the scene of a separate fatal incident involving a train and pedestrian -- this one, in Kenosha.A 36-year-old man was struck and killed on the train tracks east of Sheridan Road, and east of Simmons Field in Kenosha -- near the area of 7th Avenue between 78th and 79th Street.The train involved in the accident is a Metra train, and the incident occurred on Union Pacific tracks.The victim is a 36-year-old man.

78-year-old man passes away after his vehicle was hit by RV on US 151 in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials say a 78-year-old Brandon, Wisconsin man involved in a crash on US 151 this past Friday, September 25th has passed away.The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. on US 151 at Oakwood Road in the Township of Trenton.Sheriff's officials say a preliminary investigation has indicated a vehicle operated by Orville Kemink was facing west in the median cross over on 151 at Oakwood Road.The vehicle conducted a left/south turn onto 151, and traveled into the right/outside southbound traffic lane.A vehicle operated by 68-year-old Ronald Buholzer of Monroe was headed south on 151 in the right/outside traffic lane, approaching Oakwood Road in an RV.

Two children flown to hospital after serious crash in Dodge Co.; driver may have been under the influence

DODGE COUNTY -- Two children had to be flown to Children's Hospital on Sunday evening, September 27th after a serious crash near the Dodge County/Washington County line.Authorities say the driver may have been under the influence.It happened at I-41 and Highway 28 in the Town of Lomira, a little before 5:00 p.m.A preliminary investigation shows that a Ford Contour was traveling northbound on Interstate 41 when the vehicle entered the west side gravel shoulder.

One dead, two injured following two-vehicle crash on CTH A in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY -- The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on CTH A, one half mile north of CTH B in the Township of Beaver Dam Sunday, September 20th.Preliminary investigation shows that a Cadillac Deville  traveling southbound on CTH A crossed the center line and struck a Volvo station wagon, which was traveling northbound.

Fatal crash: Man loses control of vehicle, strikes culvert, then tree

DODGE COUNTY -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash which happened in the Township of Burnett late Saturday, September 19th.Officials say the crash happened on County Highway E one mile east of State Highway 26 -- just after 11 p.m.The preliminary investigation shows a car, driven by 36-year-old Robert Power, traveled westbound on County Highway E and entered the gravel shoulder.

21-year-old man killed in crash in Dodge County; 29-year-old man transported via Flight for Life

DODGE COUNTY -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials say one person was killed in a rollover crash that occurred on Thursday evening, September 10th.It happened in Watertown, near Lebanon, on Morningside Road.Sheriff's officials say a 21-year-old Watertown man was killed, and a 29-year-old Watertown man was taken to the hospital via Flight for Life.Preliminary investigation shows that 21-year-old Robert Buske was operating a Ford pickup truck traveling east on Morningside Road when the truck entered the south ditch and struck a culvert.

Fatal wreck: One dead in crash involving two semis in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY -- The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal crash on I-41, north of STH 49, in the Township of Lomira early Wednesday morning, August 19th.Officials say a semi with a tank trailer and a semi with a box trailer collided around 2:15 a.m.The preliminary investigation shows that the semi with a tank trailer (hauling water) was traveling north on I-41 and initiated a U-turn through the median to travel south on I-41 when it was struck by a semi with a box trail traveling south on I-41.The driver of the semi with tank trailer was uninjured in the crash, but the driver of the semi with box trailer was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.

DODGE COUNTY -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a woman in Watertown early on Sunday, August 16th.Emergency personnel were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. for a report of an unresponsive woman in a parking lot off of County Road R.

Two hurt, one seriously, after collision between SUV, car on Dodge County highway

DODGE COUNTY -- Two men were hurt in a collision between a car and SUV on US 151 in Dodge County on Wednesday afternoon, August 12th.Officials with the Dodge County Sheriff's Office say just before 1 p.m. an 87-year-old Nashotah man driving a car was slowing to make a left turn at the median crossover on US 151 in the Township of Calamus.
