Police: Man facing OWI charges after rollover crash in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT -- A man is facing OWI charges after a rollover crash that happened near State Highway 20 and County Highway V in Mount Pleasant early Sunday morning, Dec. 23.Police were called to the area around 1:50 a.m. after the car crashed into a light pole, knocking it over.

Man arrested in Mount Pleasant after marijuana found during traffic stop

MOUNT PLEASANT --  A 26-year-old man from Chicago was arrested Monday night, Dec. 17 in Mount Pleasant after officers discovered more than four pounds of marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop.According to police, around 11:12 p.m., the suspect's vehicle was stopped on State Highway 31 at Larchmont Drive in the Village of Mount Pleasant for a traffic violation.Upon making contact with the driver, the officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside of the vehicle.

Police: Marijuana, cocaine discovered during traffic stop in Racine County, 1 arrested

RACINE COUNTY -- A 27-year-old Racine man was taken into custody early Monday morning, Nov. 19 after drugs were discovered during a traffic stop.According to police, around 1:10 a.m. officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department conducted a traffic stop on STH 32 near Chicory Road for a vehicle that had suspended registration plates -- and those plates did not match the vehicle.During the traffic stop, it was determined that the passenger, identified as a 27-year-old man from Racine,  had a warrant for child support out of Racine County Circuit Courts.Police say the man was acting very nervous and when he was placed into custody officers detected an odor of marijuana and located sandwich bags in his back pocket.A search of the vehicle located six individual wrapped baggies of cocaine weighing 4.2g, four baggies of Marijuana weighing 73.2g, a scale and US Currency.The man was arrested for: Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine and Marijuana.

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Police arrested a 29-year-old Mount Pleasant man who threatened to kill his wife and held a knife to their newborn baby's throat early Saturday, Nov. 17.A news release from Mount Pleasant Police Department indicates all of this unfolded around 4 a.m. at the Greenbay Meadows apartments.A woman called police claiming her husband was going to "kill her." After she escaped the residence with an older child, officials say her husband held a knife to their newborn baby's throat, saying he was going to kill the child.Officials say the man refused to come out of the residence or release the child.

Unconscious man pulled from burning vehicle by good Samaritans dies from injuries

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Mount Pleasant police said a 31-year-old man involved in a crash on Saturday, Nov. 10 near Highway V and State Highway 20/Washington Avenue died from his injuries on Nov. 13.The victim has been identified as Richard Keller, a Mount Pleasant man.Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.Good Samaritans pulled Keller from his burning vehicle after the crash, which happened around 7 a.m. on Nov. 10.

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Two people were taken to the hospital by Flight for Life after a crash involving three people in Mount Pleasant Thursday, Oct. 4.It happened at the intersection of Old Green Bay Road and County Line Road.An investigation revealed an SUV was headed southbound on Old Green Bay Road, and it entered the intersection at County Line on a red light --striking a work van, which was headed westbound on County Line.The van flipped on its side and ended in the deep ditch on the south side of County Line Road.

MOUNT PLEASANT -- A 56-year-old Mount Pleasant man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated -- his fifth offense.It happened Friday night, Sept. 21 at around 9: 15 p.m. near Washington Avenue and Emmertsen Road in Mount Pleasant.According to Mount Pleasant police, officers pulled over the 56-year-old for a defective tail light.
