Deputies on hand at Farmington school after threatening emails directed at family members of students

FARMINGTON -- Washington County Sheriff's deputies have been on hand at Farmington Elementary School after threatening emails were directed towards family members of students at the school.On Wednesday, June 3rd, Sheriff's officials began investigating several reports of extorting-type emails that were directed towards family members of students who attend Farmington Elementary School in the Town of Farmington.Farmington Elementary School is one of several elementary schools within the Kewaskum School District.Sheriff's officials say it appears the intent of the email is to extort money from the family members of children attending that school.

WEST BEND (WITI) -- West Bend police say you can now drop off your unwanted and unused prescription drugs at the West Bend Police Department -- located at 350 Vine Street in West Bend.On Monday, May 18th, the West Bend Common Council accepted a donation of a Medical Collection Box from CVS Pharmacy and the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids.The Medical Collection Box will be placed in the lobby of the West Bend Police Department at 350 Vine Street in West Bend.Residents are encouraged to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs and over the counter medications in the Medical Collection Box.The West Bend Police Department will accept the following items in the Medical Collection Box: Prescription and over-the-counter medications, ointments, patches, non-aerosol sprays, creams, vials and pet medications.

Man taken to burn unit via Flight for Life after using motor oil and gas to start campfire

TOWN OF TRENTON (WITI) -- Washington County Sheriff's officials say a 43-year-old man suffered second and third-degree burns this weekend after he used motor oil and gas to start a campfire in his backyard.It happened on Sunday, May 17th just before 7:30 p.m.Sheriff's officials say as the mixture of motor oil and gas was poured into the man's fire pit, a flare up occurred.

Out-of-control brush fire destroys barn, grainary, machinery shed, four acres of grassland

WASHINGTON COUNTY (WITI) -- Several departments were called in to battle an out-of-control brush fire in the Town of Trenton on Sunday, May 3rd.Shortly before 1:00 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an out of control brush fire located at 2164 County Highway NN in the Town of Trenton.Deputies and firefighters from the Newburg Fire Department were subsequently dispatched to the scene.A Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper was the first to arrive on scene and reported that the roof of a nearby barn had also caught fire and was spreading rapidly.

26-year-old woman hospitalized after she was struck by a vehicle in West Bend

WEST BEND (WITI) -- West Bend police say a 26-year-old woman had to be taken to the hospital after she was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday, March 24th.It happened shortly before 1:00 p.m. near 6th Avenue and Walnut Street.An investigation revealed the 26-year-old woman was walking northbound -- crossing Walnut Street at 6th Avenue.

FATAL CRASH: 28-year-old Hartford man killed after rear-ending school bus

Three squad cars damaged, two in custody following pursuit that ended in Germantown

MENOMONEE FALLS (WITI) -- Waukesha County Sheriff's officials say three squad cars were damaged during a pursuit as law enforcement officials looked to arrest an individual wanted on a felony warrant for theft and eluding officers Wednesday afternoon, February 11th.The State Patrol requested Waukesha County Sheriff's officials pick up the individual on the warrant.
