New Berlin police seek suspect responsible for strong-armed robbery on Timber Ridge Court

NEW BERLIN -- New Berlin police are searching for the suspect responsible for a strong-armed robbery that occurred Thursday night, October 15th.Police were called to a home on Timber Ridge Court around 9:33 p.m. for a report of a strong -armed robbery.Police say the male and female resident of the home, along with their adult daughter, returned home from dinner at that time.

BROOKFIELD -- Utility crews repaired two water main breaks that happened in the City of Brookfield on Wednesday morning, September 9th.One of the breaks was on Capitol Drive and the second on Brookfield Road.The break on Brookfield Road was affecting about 10 customers, who were without water as repairs were being made.

Suspects sought after Escalade stolen from Brookfield found at Walmart in Whitewater

BROOKFIELD/WHITEWATER -- Police are looking for the suspect(s) who stole an Escalade in Brookfield and dumped it at the Walmart store in Whitewater.Police have released surveillance photos of the suspects captured inside the Walmart store.They are looking for three men and one woman.The 2015 Escalade was stolen last week from a home near Lisbon Avenue and Brookfield Road.The SUV was tracked via OnStar to Whitewater.Police say it was found with stolen New York license plates on it.If you have any information in this case, you're asked to contact police.

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use - Division of Environmental Health has been notified by the Wisconsin Division of Health Services that a mosquito batch collected in Mitchell Park in the city of Brookfield has tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV).This test was conducted as part of the city of Brookfield’s mosquito and WNV surveillance, prevention and control program.

Snappy dressers: Brookfield police seek up to four suspects in theft of credit cards

BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police are seeking as many as four suspects in connection with the theft of and fraudulent use of stolen credit cards.According to a crime alert issued by the police department, two suspects "stalked" a female victim -- and eventually stole her wallet from a shopping cart.Officials say those stolen credit cards were later used to purchase seven $1,000 gift cards.

Why was nothing done? Officials knew for a year about girl with autism forced to live in basement

BROOKFIELD (WITI) — Police records show the Waukesha County Department of Health and Human Services knew that a 13-year-old child with autism was being forced to live in a cold basement at least a year before she was removed from her home."The systems and people who are supposed to protect the most vulnerable members of our community failed this teenager, multiple times and at every level," says Liz Field, President of Autism Speaks. "It is important to investigate how this inhumane situation continued, despite numerous reports and visible signs of neglect and abuse."According to New Berlin police reports from 2012-2014, WCDHHS was notified at least 10 times about concerns police, neighbors and teachers had about how the child was being treated at home.In March, the child's mother and stepfather were charged with child neglect for allegedly locking the teen who has autism in an unfinished basement with no toilet or sink, forcing her to wear diapers and refusing to allow her to sit on furniture.
