DPW calling for overnight snow removal operation: Move your vehicle by 2:00 a.m. Monday!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The city of Milwaukee's Department of Public Works (DPW) has called for an overnight snow removal operation in the 5-Day Parking Exception Area.All residents in this area must move their vehicles to the correct side of the street by 2:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015 (even numbered side of the street).This will help ensure that DPW crews can access as much of the street pavement as possible to remove ice and snow effectively, efficiently, and most importantly, safely.Once the area streets have been plowed, DPW will notify residents again that the operation has concluded and overnight parking is once again permitted on both sides of the street, until the next operation is called.“So far this winter, the new parking rules experiment has worked well.

Sheboygan crews use blend of road salt, brine to keep your drive safe

SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- The City of Sheboygan Department of Public Works is responsible for about 200 miles of streets when it snows.On Monday, November 24th, the precipitation changed from light rain to snow around 2:00 p.m. As soon as that happened, crews from the DPW were out the door with about a dozen salt trucks.

Light snow moving out of southeast Wisconsin; expect a windy afternoon
