ALBUQUERQUE, NM (AP) — Ryan Evans scored 11 points and grabbed a crucial rebound in the closing seconds, helping Wisconsin hold off Vanderbilt 60-57 Saturday night to advance to the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament.John Jenkins took a 3-pointer that would have given the Commodores the lead, but it bounced high off the rim and Evans pulled down the rebound and was fouled with 2.1 seconds left.

Marquette pounds past Murray State, 62-53

LOUISVILLE, KY (AP) -- Jae Crowder scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half, and Marquette used a late run to overcome Murray State 62-53 Saturday, sending the Golden Eagles to the West Regional semifinals.Trailing 46-41 with 7:43 to play, Marquette went on a 14-2 run.While Crowder and Davante Gardner took care of the offense, scoring all but two points during the spurt, the Golden Eagles used their size and strength to wear down the pesky Racers.Isaiah Canaan scored 16 for Murray State, (31-2) which is still looking to get out of the first weekend of the NCAA tournament.It's the second time in three years Murray State has fallen short of the regional semifinals.Marquette (27-7) plays the winner of Norfolk State-Florida next Thursday in Phoenix.

LOUISVILLE, KY (AP) -- Jae Crowder finished with 25 points and 16 rebounds, Darius Johnson-Odom had 12 of his 20 points in the second half and Marquette withstood another furious BYU rally for an 88-68 Thursday.Brandon Davies had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the 14th-seeded Cougars (26-9), who looked for a brief while as if they might have a chance to top their historic comeback in the First Four on Tuesday night.

Wisconsin cruises past Montana, 73-49

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -- Rob Evans scored 18 points and Jordan Taylor added 17 points and six assists for Wisconsin, which ended Montana's school record 14-game winning streak with a 73-49 win over the Grizzlies on Thursday.The fourth-seeded Badgers (25-9) improved to 10-1 in their NCAA tournament openers under Bo Ryan, the winningest coach in the program's history.Wisconsin will face the Vanderbilt-Harvard winner in the next round of the East Regional on Saturday at the Pit.Art Steward's 18 points led the Grizzles (25-7), who were familiar with the Badgers' style because one of their assistants, Freddie Owens, played at Wisconsin from 2001-04.
