MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Admirals look to clinch their 12th consecutive playoff berth when they travel to the play the Rockford IceHogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night, April 11th.The Admirals are currently in the sixth spot in the Western Conference (the top eight qualify) with 83 points, eight points up on ninth place Rockford.A Milwaukee win Friday night would give them 85 points which would be more than the IceHogs could secure the rest of the season.If the Ads do qualify tomorrow night the opponent and game dates/times will be announced at a future date.

Admirals to honor Keith Tozer on Friday, April 18th

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Admirals will honor legendary Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Keith Tozer before the Ads game Friday, April 18th against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:00 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.Tozer will drop the ceremonial first puck prior to the game, in addition to other activities throughout the night.“We are thrilled to have Keith join us for our game on April 18th,” said Admirals President Jon Greenberg. “The success he has had over the past two decades transcends soccer and has made him a true legend in Milwaukee sports history.”Over 22 seasons as the Wave head coach Tozer won the National Professional Soccer League title three times with the first one coming in 1998.

Admirals celebrate 25th anniversary of Major League

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Admirals are excited to welcome actor Corbin Bernsen on Tuesday, April 8 as the Ads pay tribute to the movie Major League and take on the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.The 1989 film celebrates 25 years since its production in Milwaukee at the Milwaukee County Stadium, the then home of the Brewers.

Admirals dogged by Grand Rapids Griffins, 3-1

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Admirals were put in the dog house by the Grand Rapids Griffins, as they fell to the Griffs 3-1 on Sunday afternoon, March 30th at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in front of nearly 500 dogs at the team's annual Purina Dog Day Afternoon.Despite the loss the Admirals have still won 10 of their past 13 games and hold on to the sixth spot in the Western Conference playoff chase, two points up on both Rockford and Charlotte.Both goalies, Marek Mazanec and Petr Mrazek, stood strong resulting in a scoreless first period.

Admirals Mark Van Guilder recalled by Nashville Predators

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Sunday, March 30th that the club has recalled forward Mark Van Guilder from Milwaukee (AHL).The veteran of 387 career minor league games since 2008-09 is expected to make his NHL debut Sunday night, when the Predators take on the Washington Capitals.Van Guilder has 28 points (14g-14a) in 66 games this season for the Admirals, his sixth season with the club.The native of Roseville, Minn., has been the Admirals nominee for the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Milwaukee community for each of the past four seasons.A 6'2", 205-pound forward, Van Guilder registered 98 points (42g-56a) in 163 games during a four-year career at the University of Notre Dame (2004-08), never missing a game during his collegiate career.

Admirals expect more than 500 dogs for game on Sunday

Admirals earn sixth win in seven games with victory over Rampage

MILWUAKEE (WITI) -- Mark Van Guilder's goal with just over five minutes to play in the game broke a 2-2 tie and led the Admirals to a 4-2 win over San Antonio Rampage on Saturday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.Van Guilder's tally started when Tony Bitetto fired a shot that was stopped by San Antonio netminder Scott Clemmensen, but the puck trickled just to his left, where Van Guilder lay in wait to pounce on it for his 12th of the season.Scott Darling earned the win in net for Milwaukee, stopping 25 of 27 shots in his first start since February 29th.The Ads got on the board first when Calle Jarnkrok picked up his fifth goal in as many games with Milwaukee 10:24 into the first.After The Admirals successfully killed off a pair of Rampage power-plays, they finally got one of their own when Wade Megan was called for whistled for hooking.

Admirals blasted by Grand Rapids Griffins, 5-1

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Admirals dug themselves a 5-0 hole to Grand Rapids and only a Kevin Henderson tally in the third period prevented their second straight shutout to the Griffins as Milwaukee fell 5-1 Wednesday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.Milwaukee has now lost five games in a row overall and their last five at the BMOHBC.Grand Rapids got on the board first when Andrej Nestrasil beat Ads goalie Marek Mazanec high, stick side on a one-timer from Teemu Pulkkinen just 4:14 into the game.The Admirals had a chance to pull even later in the period with 1:04 of 5-on-3 power-play time, but the failed to convert and the Griffins had a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.The Griffins made it 2-0  with 4:36 remaining in the second period when Calle Jarnkrok was sprung on a mini breakaway and he roofed a backhand over Mazenec.
