Judge sets bond at $1,000 in Dodge Co. child neglect case

DODGE COUNTY (WITI) -- A Dodge County woman charged with child neglect after officials ruled a home there is "unfit for humans" made her initial appearance in court on Monday, March 10th.Secoy Koch-Miller faces one felony charge of child neglect (consequence is bodily harm) and one misdemeanor count of child neglect.In court on Monday, a judge set bond at $1,000 with a condition of no unsupervised contact with her two children.FOX6 News first brought you this story last week.The Dodge County home, located in the Town of Burnette was condemned by officials after law enforcement discovered a newborn, toddler and their mother and grandmother in filthy conditions.Betty Koch-Miller must move from the home that is being condemned.

7 agencies respond to high-speed chase through 3 counties

FOND DU LAC CO. (WITI) -- Reaching speeds of more than 100 miles-per-hour, and traveling 45 miles through three counties, a high-speed chase ended Monday night, March 3rd with a man in custody.The chase began in Winnebago County, went through Fond du Lac County and ended in Dodge County.Seven different law enforcement agencies were involved.Sgt.

77-year-old Jefferson woman killed following Dodge County crash

DODGE COUNTY (WITI) -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials say a 77-year-old Jefferson woman died as a result of injuries suffered in a crash on Sunday morning, January 19th.Sheriff's officials say it happened around 9:00 a.m. on County M, near County J in the Township of Clyman.A preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle was headed north on County M when the driver, a 77-year-old Jefferson man, lost control on snow covered and slippery roads and slid off the road.Sheriff's officials say the vehicle struck the railroad signal gate crossing just south of County J.The driver was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.The passenger was taken to the hospital via Flight for Life, where she succumbed to her injuries.Names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.The crash remains under investigation.

Beaver Dam man pulled from water after driving ATV into open water

DODGE COUNTY (WITI) -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials on Saturday, December 14th made a water rescue on Beaver Dam Lake in the Town of Trenton.Sheriff's officials responded to the scene around 2:45 a.m. and were able to locate a male subject approximately 300 yards north of the Hickory Point Road landing.Sheriff's officials say the man had driven his four-wheel ATV off the ice and into open water.The ATV was submerged and the man was standing on the ATV in an attempt to keep his head above water.The driver of the ATV, 32-year-old Raymond Cody of Beaver Dam was arrested for operating  an ATV while intoxicated.A roped floatation device was used to pull Cody from the water, and he was taken to the hospital.

One dead after single vehicle crash in Dodge County

LOWELL (WITI) -- One man is dead following a single vehicle accident that occurred Saturday morning, November 30th on Highway I in the Dodge County Township of Lowell.The accident happened just after 5:30 a.m.Preliminary reports show the driver of a Ford F-250 failed to negotiate a curve south of County SS.

Wanted man William Rennhack taken into custody

MONTELLO (WITI) -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Department apprehended wanted man William Rennhack between 7 and 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 24th in the town of Montello.A sergeant at the department tells FOX6 that a tip to law enforcement led to Rennhack's arrest.Due to violations in multiple jurisdictions, officials say it could take a while for Rennhack to be formally charged.No officers were injured during the arrest.RELATED STORIES:

DODGE CO. (WITI) -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Department is warning its residents of a telephone scam.Officials say a female is placing telephone calls to citizens representing themselves as an employee of the WI Dodge County Felony Fraud Division.The person was attempting to get bank account information under the pretense that the individual's wife had issued a worthless check and she needed his account information in order to avoid prosecution or suspension of his wife’s vehicle registration.Sheriff Patricia Ninmann said in a news release, “At no time does the Sheriff’s Office contact individuals via telephone to retrieve financial information or banking account numbers.

32-year-old Mayville woman killed in crash in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY (WITI) -- A 32-year-old Mayville woman was killed in a crash that occurred Thursday, August 29th just before noon on Dairy Road, north of Lomira Drive in the Township of Leroy.The preliminary investigation shows that a Dodge Neon was traveling south on Dairy Road, going up a hill.

Three in custody after stolen vehicles recovered in Dodge Co.

DODGE COUNTY (WITI) -- A 37-year-old man, 22-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman from Milwaukee were taken into custody early Tuesday morning, August 6th for operating a vehicle without the owner's consent.According to officials, a Dodge County deputy observed three suspicious vehicles drive into a business in the Village of Lomira around 1:43 a.m. Upon checking the license plates, it was discovered that all three vehicles were stolen.Two of the vehicles were stolen from the City of Fond du Lac while the other was stolen from the City of Waukesha.The three individuals were taken into custody and charges of operating vehicle without owner’s consent and additional charges are being requested.“Due to the active patrolling in local communities the Deputies were able to return stolen property to the rightful owners as well as arrest those who committed the crime” states Sheriff Ninmann.  “Deputies Oblinski, Borchardt and Wolfe should be commended for an outstanding job with this investigation.”
