MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police say a child was struck by a car and injured on Monday afternoon, September 29th.It happened shortly before 3:00 p.m. in the 2100 block of Howe Street in the Village of Mount Pleasant.Officials determined a 22-year-old Racine woman was headed northbound on Howe Street when a six-year-old child darted out into traffic from between two parked vehicles in order to retrieve a Frisbee.Mount Pleasant police say the child was conscious at the scene -- and taken to the hospital with a leg injury.

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police say one person is in custody, and another person is wanted by police after a large amount of marijuana, with a street value estimated at $14,000 was recovered from a hotel room.On Tuesday, September 2nd, just before 4:30 p.m., police were called out to the America's Best Value Inn & Suites Hotel on Durand Avenue after employees reported they could detect an odor of marijuana from inside the building.It was suspected the odor was originating from a second-floor hotel room.While officers were responding, they were notified by dispatch that the occupants of the hotel room had broken a second-floor window, and had jumped to the ground.Officers entered the hotel room and discovered a large amount of marijuana.

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- An armed robbery ends with a stolen, five-month-old puppy, and now, Mount Pleasant police need your help.Police on Saturday evening, August 23rd -- shortly after 8:00 p.m., responded to a report of an armed robbery where a suspect wielded a knife, occurring at Maryland Avenue and Oregon Street.Police say a woman was out walking her five-month-old German Shepherd puppy when she observed a newer, red vehicle with tinted windows pull up next to her.The woman reported two men displayed a knife and demanded money from her.

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police on Friday night, June 20th took a 25-year-old Racine man into custody after finding him in possession of drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle.Police were called out to the dead end of East Red Pine Circle around 7:45 p.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of an empty lot.When police arrived, they found the vehicle occupied by a 25-year-old Racine man, who appeared to be going in and out of consciousness.Officers made repeated attempts and were eventually able to gain the man's attention.Police say the man opened his hands, and revealed a syringe and drug paraphernalia -- consistent with heroin use.Police say the man was also in possession of an eight-inch knife.The man was taken to the hospital for treatment -- and was then taken to the Racine County Jail -- where he is being held on several charges -- including possession of heroin as a repeat offender, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed weapon, probation/parole hold and OWI -- second offense.

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police are seeking a shoplifting suspect whom police say stole items from Kohl's.Police describe the suspect as a white or Hispanic female, 5'4" to 5'6" tall, weighing 200 to 230 pounds.Police say the woman took about $800 worth of clothing items from Kohl's on January 17th.Police say the woman then exited the store and entered a black Buick Rendezvous, with a partial plate of 402.

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- A Mount Pleasant police officer shot and killed a pit bull that appeared aggressive and advanced on another officer late Friday, October 11th.Officers were called to a home on Sheridan road shortly after 11 p.m. Friday for a report of a loose dog (pit bull).
