Slinger woman arrested, accused of tossing cat out of vehicle after dispute at Humane Society

SLINGER -- A Slinger woman has been arrested for disorderly conduct -- accused of tossing her cat out of her vehicle.It happened on Friday, August 28th.Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office say the 58-year-old woman became upset at the Washington County Humane Society after learning there would be a fee to have her cat put down.Sheriff's officials say the woman got into a physical altercation with some employees, and then tossed the cat out of her vehicle before leaving.The cat was in a crate at the time, and wasn't injured, according to Humane Society officials.However, the cat was put down due to other ailments.

Germantown police: Suspect in custody after hit-and-run crash that killed 50-year-old man

GERMANTOWN -- Germantown police said late Monday, August 24th a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on Sunday night.According to police, a 50-year-old man from Germantown, now identified as Keith Habenicht, was operating his bicycle southbound on Appleton Avenue, south of Mequon Road, when he was struck from behind.

West Bend police arrest 17-year-old girl, 18-year-old man for lewd and lascivious behavior

WEST BEND -- West Bend police say a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man were arrested for lewd and lascivious behavior early on Sunday, August 9th.Shortly before 1:30 a.m., officers were called out to an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Barton Avenue for a report of a male and female, both unclothed, engaging in sexual activity.When officers arrived, the man fled on foot, but he was later located and identified as an 18-year-old from Lac Du Flambeau.The female was identified as a 17-year-old from Minocqua.Both the girl and the man were in West Bend visiting friends and had been drinking alcohol prior to the incident.The 18-year-old man was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, sexual assault of a child over 16 years of age, obstructing officers and also issued a citation for underage consumption of alcohol.The 17-year-old girl was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior and issued a citation for underage consumption of alcohol.

40-year-old West Bend man suffers minor injuries after rollover crash on Highway 45

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating a rollover crash that occurred late Wednesday night, August 5th on Highway 45.It happened around 10:45 p.m. on Highway 45, north of Pleasant Valley Road.Officials say a 40-year-old man from West Bend was driving northbound on Highway 45 when his SUV left the roadway and rolled over.The man suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by the Jackson Fire/Rescue.Investigators say drugs and alcohol are not factors in the crash.The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

22-year-old registered sex offender arrested after he allegedly had unsupervised contact with girl

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A 22-year-old registered sex offender was taken into custody -- accused of violating his release rules as a result of a suspicious vehicle investigation that revealed he had unsupervised contact with a 17-year-old West Bend girl.On Friday, July 31st, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the 4400 block of State Highway 60 in the Town of Polk.The reporting party advised the vehicle appeared to be parked in an effort to conceal it in a wooded area.

West Bend police: 14-year-old girl sexually assaulted by 19-year-old Iowa man at Hampton Inn

WEST BEND -- West Bend police are investigating the sexual assault of a 14-year-old West Bend girl that occurred Saturday, August 1st at the Hampton Inn on S. 18th Street.Police say officers responded to a 911 hang-up call at the Hampton Inn, and while investigating, they determined a 19-year-old man from Iowa met the 14-year-old West Bend girl on the internet -- and came to West Bend.An investigation has revealed there was sexual contact between the man and the girl.The Iowa man has no prior criminal record, police say.He was arrested, and taken to the Washington County Jail on charges of sexual assault of a child.

Plane crashes in Washington County corn field, pilot not hurt

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash of a small plane in a corn field in the Town of Barton on Tuesday morning, July 21st.Deputies were dispatched to the scene on Country Trunk D around 8:15 a.m.  When they arrived, they found the pilot was not hurt.The investigation determined the pilot, a 58-year-old Harvest, Alabama man with 25 years of flying experience, had taken off from EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh and was traveling to DeKalb, Illinois.

TOWN OF ERIN -- Washington County Sheriff's officials say a 75-year-old man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon, June 16th in the Town of Erin.It happened shortly before 2:00 p.m. on State Highway 83, approximately .2 miles north of County Line Road in the Town of Erin.An on-scene investigation revealed the following:An antique automobile, operated by a 61-year-old Sussex man, was northbound on State Highway 83 from County Line Road.
