ARRESTED: 15-year-old Racine boy, in connection with armed robbery, shooting death of Semar McClain

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police say they have arrested a teenager in connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Semar McClain.Police say a 15-year-old Racine boy has been arrested on charges of first degree intentional homicide and armed robbery by use of a dangerous weapon.He was arrested on Wednesday, August 6th for the July 29th armed robbery and murder of McClain.Police say the boy is being held in the Racine County Jail -- and will be seen in adult court.

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police have identified a 19-year-old man found dead on Tuesday night, July 29th.Police say 19-year-old Semar McClain suffered a fatal gunshot wound.On Tuesday, around 7:00 p.m., police responded to the 1300 block of Blake Avenue in reference to a man down.There, they discovered McClain dead.People staying at the address tell FOX6 News McClain didn't live in the area.

Newspaper carrier alerts firefighters to fire in vacant home in Racine Tuesday morning

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine officials are investigating a house fire that occurred early Tuesday morning, July 29th on Racine's north side.According to officials, a newspaper carrier reported the fire just before 3 a.m. in a vacant, two family home near Goold and North Wisconsin Street.When crews arrived on scene, they found fire on the second floor and in the attic of the home.Officials say it took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.No injuries were reported.Crews remained on scene until 10 a.m. to check for hot spots and to assist in the investigation.The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.The loss from this fire is estimated to be around $65,000.

Woman in serious condition following rollover accident in Town of Norway

RACINE (WITI) -- A 31-year-old woman from Sturtevant is in serious condition following a single-vehicle, rollover crash that occurred early Friday morning, July 11th.According to officials, an off-duty detective from the Racine County Sheriff's Office Metro Drug Unit was on his way to work when he located the crash in the 24000 block of Apple Road in the Town of Norway.The 31-year-old driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was ejected.The detective located the woman in a ditch, approximately five feet from the vehicle.

Racine police: 49-year-old man in ICU following stabbing incident; investigation ongoing

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred early Tuesday morning, July 1st in the 1600 block of State Street.According to authorities, police responded to the scene around 1 a.m. after receiving reports of a male stabbing victim that needed medical treatment.Upon arrival, officers located a 49-year-old man.The victim was transported by rescue to Wheaton Franciscan Emergency  Room for treatment of his injuries.He remains in ICU and is expected to recover.This is an ongoing investigation and no further details will be released at this time.Racine Police investigators are interested in any additional information that you may have about this crime.

Operation Cross Country in Racine: 13 women recovered, two pimps arrested

RACINE COUNTY (WITI) -- On June 19th through the 21st, the Racine Human Trafficking Task Force participated in Operation Cross Country VIII -- a nationwide effort targeting the growing problem of human sex trafficking in the United States from June 19th through the 21st.The operation aimed to address the sexual exploitation of juveniles as part of the national Innocence Lost Initiative.Human sex trafficking affects communities throughout southeastern Wisconsin, both large and small.

CHARGED: Jesus Arroyo, in connection with Monday’s escape in Racine County

RACINE COUNTY (WITI) -- 36-year-old Jesus Arroyo -- the man who escaped from custody and launched a massive manhunt earlier this week, has now been officially charged in connection with the escape.Arroyo was in court on Wednesday, June 4th -- and so was his family.Arroyo faces three charges -- two felonies and a misdemeanor.Charges against Arroyo include: one count of felony escape (repeater), one count of obstructing an officer -- causing a soft tissue injury (repeater) and obstructing an officer (repeater).According to the criminal complaint against him, Arroyo has a history of convictions dating back to 1998.He was convicted of felony escape in Kenosha in 2011.On Monday, June 2nd, Arroyo was being transported by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections from one correctional facility to another.He was being taken from the Milwaukee House of Correction to the Racine County Jail on a probation hold.The DOC sergeant pulled up to the Racine County Jail, and the sally port door was already open -- so he drove in.
