Brewers survive Giants comeback for 10-8 win

MILWAUKEE -- After scoring 7 runs in their previous 4 games, the Brewers exploded for a season-high 8 runs in the 3rd inning, then hung on for a 10-8 win over the San Francisco Giants Tuesday night at Miller Park.Yuniesky Betancourt's grand slam homer highlighted the eruption, but starting pitcher Wily Peralta struggled and had to be removed before the end of the 5th inning.Nori Aoki's 8th inning homer gave the Crew some breathing room; the Giants tacked on one more for the 10-8 final in game one of the homestand and the 3 game series.Still bothered by a sore neck, Ryan Braun struck out 4 times.Kyle Lohse takes the mound for Milwaukee in game 2 on Wednesday night. 

Brewers run out of bodies and innings in loss to Diamondbacks

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- After battling back in the 9th inning to tie the game, the Brewers had no available position players left in an attempted comeback in the 11th inning in an 8-7 11 inning loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.Down 8-6 in the bottom of the 11th, Jonathan Lucroy singled in a run making it 8-7 and leaving runners on 1st and 3rd with only 1 out.

MLB sues Florida clinic linked to supplying players with PEDs

(CNN) -- Major League Baseball on Friday sued a South Florida clinic Biogenesis of America and several men associated with it for flouting its drug prevention program by allegedly providing performance enhancing substances to players, the pro sports league said.According to reports and the MLB suit, filed in Florida's Miami-Dade County, the clinic reportedly supplied banned performance enhancing substances to a number of current and former pro baseball players such as ex-Boston Red Sox Manny Ramirez."We believe we have a legitimate legal claim against the defendants, and we intend to pursue it vigorously," said Rob Manfred, Major League Baseball's executive vice president of economics and legal affairs.A phone call placed Friday night by CNN to Bosch's lawyer was not immediately returned.
