Hunger Task Force appeals for donations, looks to close "gap of $272,252"

"Breakfast, lunch and supper:" Hunger Task Force kicks off Summer Meals Program

MILWAUKEE -- When the school year ends, students who rely on school lunches go hungry, so the Hunger Task Force on Tuesday, June 6th kicked off its "Summer Meals Program."It will serve more than 800,000 meals to kids who otherwise wouldn't have enough to eat from now through August.There are 170 sites throughout the city, where there will be green signs that read "Kids Eat Free Summer Meals Here.""The green signs are going up all over the city as well, and it doesn't matter if your child is enrolled in that particular school or the Y or whatever.

Bucks, Cousins Subs team up to benefit the Hunger Task Force: $20,000 raised

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks and Cousins Subs on Thursday, April 13th teamed up to help the Hunger Task Force.For every Bucks' blocked shot this season, Cousins donated $45 to the Hunger Task Force in honor of its 45th anniversary.The grand total was almost $20,000.Even though this campaign is over, there are still ways you can help year-round.PHOTO GALLERY"Donate food items, non-perishable items -- and that can be done all year long here at the Hunger Task Force and, of course, you can volunteer your time and make sure that all of the people in our community are not hungry," Jim Paschke, Bucks announcer said.As part of the campaign, Cousins Subs stores in Milwaukee collected 3,217 pounds of canned goods and 6,870 pounds were collected statewide.

Packers' Jared Cook, Sargento officials present $39K check to Hunger Task Force

MILWAUKEE -- Just in time for the holidays, the Hunger Task Force on Tuesday, December 13th received a big donation.The Green Bay Packers and Sargento Foods presented a $39,000 check to the Hunger Task Force -- marking the 14th season of the "Touchdowns for Charity" program.The program has raised more than $1.1 million since it began.Packers' tight end Jared Cook joined Sargento officials to present the check."I want to thank everyone for being here today.
