GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WITI) -- Forward Landon Ferraro scored twice in the third period to lead the Grand Rapids Griffins to a 4-2 win over the Admirals Friday night.Milwaukee forward Mark Van Guilder had given his team a 2-1 lead with his fourth goal of the season at 4:15 of the third period.

Admirals drop overtime game to Lake Erie

Milwaukee, Wi  -- The Admirals battled back from a 3-0 deficit, only to fall to the Lake Erie Monsters, 5-4 in overtime Tuesday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.Pontus Aberg's 2nd game-tying goal of the night forced the extra session.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Defenseman Jimmy Oligny scored his first pro goal, but the Admirals dropped a 6-2 decision to the Chicago Wolves in Amtrak Rivalry action at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Friday night.The loss extended their home-losing streak to six games.

Hockey-Days: Admirals play three at home, host the ninth annual Admirals Cup

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A time honored tradition like opening presents on Christmas morning, eggnog or overcooking the holiday turkey continues this year as the Admirals once again present Hockey-Days, from December 26th through January 3rd.During that time there is plenty of hockey to go around as the Ads play three home games and the team will also host the ninth-annual Admirals Cup, presented by Bradley Corp.The Admirals Cup, which features eight elite high school hockey programs, kicks off the fun on Friday, December 26th with games at the BMO Harris Bradley Center at 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. There are also Admirals Cup games slated for Saturday, December 27th at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the BMOHC.The Admirals play their first home game after the Christmas break on the 26th when they host the Chicago Wolves in Amtrak Rivalry action at 7:00 p.m. Milwaukee’s own Pat McCurdy will perform in the east atrium before and after the game and the first 2,500 fans will take home a cinch sack, courtesy of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.After a road game in Iowa on December 29th, the Admirals return home on the 30th to host the Lake Erie Monsters at 7:00 p.m. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive cowbells, courtesy of Potawatomi Hotel and Casino and all Miller/Coors Drafts are only $2!The final game of the Hockey-Days comes on Saturday, January 3rd when the Admirals welcome the Hamilton Bulldogs to the BMOHBC.

Admirals earn comeback win against Americans, 4-2

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Marek Mazanec stopped 28 shots and recorded an assist to lead the Milwaukee Admirals to a 4-2 win over the Rochester Americans Saturday night.The Admirals trailed 2-0 after the first period.The Admirals claimed the lead for the first time in the game at 1:20 of the third period.

Admirals shut out the Lake Erie Monsters, 4-0

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Goalie Marek Mazanec stopped 29 shots and Brendan Leipsic recorded his first two-goal game to lead the Milwaukee Admirals to a 4-0 win over the Lake Erie Monsters Tuesday night.The win snapped a seven-game winless skid for the Admirals (0-5-0-2) dating back to November 26.

Admirals burnt by Flames at home, 3-1

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- In an almost identical game to their last, the Ads fell behind early, tied the game late in the second, before giving up the lead early in the third as they fell to the Adirondack Flames 3-1 on Friday night at the BMOHBC.The loss was the seventh straight for Milwaukee and the fifth in a row at home, both firsts since joining the AHL back in 2003.After a scoreless first period the Flames leading scorer Ben Hanowski put them up 1-0 with a power-play marker at 9:24 of the second.It looked like it would go that way into the third period, but some hard work by the Ads in front of the Adirondack net helped them level the score with just 1:31 left in the frame.Felix Girard found a loose puck directly in front of Flames goalie Joni Ortio and took a shot that Ortio saved.

Admirals fall 2-1 to Griffins in shoot-out

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Admirals goalie Magnus Hellberg was magnificent in goal, stopping 33 of 34 shots, but Grand Rapids tied the game with just 50 seconds left in regulation and eventually won it in a shoot-out, taking a 2-1 decision on Sunday afternoon, December 7th at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.Grand Rapids fired 14 shots in the final period, to the Ads three, and they were finally able to solve Hellberg when Teemu Pulkkinen poked a loose puck through Hellberg’s legs with a sixth attacker on the ice and just 50 seconds remaining in the game.After a scoreless overtime, the Griffins Andy Miele and Mitch Callahan each scored in the shoot-out, while Patrick Cehlin was the only Admiral to convert.After a slow start to the game, the two teams had just one total shot half-way through the first, the action picked up at the end of the first.Pontus Aberg's team-leading ninth goal of the season at the 12:36 gave the Ads a 1-0 lead.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Admirals President Jon Greenberg has announced rock groups Great White and Slaughter will perform in a LIVE post-game concert following the Ads final regular season home game on Friday, April 17th against the Toronto Marlies.The concert, which is sponsored by Coors Light, Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, Toyota, and Lee Jeans, is free to attend with a game ticket.

Admirals fall to Charlotte 3-2 in shootout

CHARLOTTE (WITI) -- Goalie Drew MacIntyre stopped 39 shots and all three chances in a shootout to lead the Charlotte Checkers to a 3-2 shootout win over the Milwaukee Admirals Sunday afternoon, November 30th.MacIntyre faced 16 shots from the Admirals in the first period.

Admirals edged by Charlotte Checkers, 5-4

CHARLOTTE (WITI) -- Forward Phil DiGiuseppe scored with 90 seconds remaining in the game to lead the Charlotte Checkers to a 5-4 win over the Milwaukee Admirals Saturday night.DiGiuseppe was able to find the loose puck in the crease after Trevor Carrick fanned on a pass from Andrew Rowe.

Milwaukee Admirals beat Chicago Wolves 4-1

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Marek Mazanec stopped 22 of 23 shots, while four different Admirals found the back of the net as Milwaukee beat the Chicago Wolves 4-1 in Amtrak Rivalry action on Wednesday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Mazanec and gave him his first win since October 24th.It was also the fourth victory for Milwaukee in five tries against the Wolves this season.Pontus Aberg put the Ads up 1-0 with 4:55 left in the first period with his sixth goal of the year.

Admirals fall to Wild in shootout

DES MOINES (WITI) -- Goalie John Curry stopped 33 shots to lead the Iowa Wild to a 2-1 shootout win over the Milwaukee Admirals Sunday night, November 23rd.It was Milwaukee’s first loss in Des Moines since losing to the then-Iowa Chops February 28, 2009.The lone goal in the shootout for either team was scored by Iowa’s Zack Phillips.The loss was the first blemish on Admirals goalie Magnus Hellberg’s record this season.

Admirals top Wolves in overtime victory, 3-2

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Pontus Aberg's 3-on-3 goal with just 1:39 left in overtime gave the Admirals a 3-2 win over the Chicago Wolves in Amtrak Rivalry action on Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.Aberg’s goal came off a wrister from the top of the right circle that beat Chicago goalie Matt Climie low to the far side.Even though he gave up more than one goal in a game for the first time this season, Magnus Hellberg still earned the win to move to 6-0 on the year, stopping 31 shots, including 27 in the final two periods and OT.The Admirals took a 1-0 lead at 8:58 of the first period on Austin Watson's team leading 6th of the season.
