Racine police: Neighbor notices suspicious activity, two teenage burglary suspects quickly arrested

RACINE -- Racine police were able to quickly arrest two teenagers, accused of breaking into a home.It happened on Tuesday afternoon, November 10th -- shortly before 12:30 p.m.Police say a neighbor observed three individuals kick in the back door of a home near 19th and Grange Avenue, and enter that home.As an officer arrived at the home, that officer observed three individuals walk from the back of the home.The officer gave commands, but police say all three suspects fled the yard -- jumping over a fence.A perimeter was established -- and officers were able to locate the suspects hiding behind bushes near 19th and Taylor Avenue.After a brief foot pursuit, two suspects were taken into custody.Officers found a backpack in the bushes that contained several items taken from the home during the burglary.The two suspects arrested are 16 and 17 years old, police say.

Racine police: 17-year-old boy found with injury to arm may be responsible for forcibly entering home

RACINE -- Racine police say a 17-year-old boy found with a severe injury to his arm on Sunday afternoon, November 1st may be responsible for forcibly entering a home near LaSalle and Hagerer Street.Police say around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, they responded to the area near Walton and Erie Street for a male running in the area, bleeding heavily.The 17-year-old boy initially identified himself using a false name, police say, and indicated he was a victim of a crime during which he had been injured.The boy was taken to the hospital, and officers located the parents of the boy whose name was offered by the suspect.Upon their arrival to the emergency room, it was determined the 17-year-old boy who was hurt was not who he had said he was.

Racine police: 33-year-old man shot, injured near LaSalle & Albert, suspect sought

RACINE -- Racine police are seeking the suspect responsible for a shooting that occurred Monday night, September 21stRacine police responded to the area of LaSalle and Albert Street just before 9 p.m. for a report of shots fired.Upon arrival, a 33-year-old gunshot wound victim, was located at his girlfriend’s home in the 1400 block of LaSalle Street.The victim reported that he was driving though the area when an unknown black male slapped the hood to his vehicle.

Racine police investigate fatal shooting near 16th & Taylor Avenue

RACINE -- Racine police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday night, September 20th.According to police, officers responded to the area of 16th and Taylor Avenue around 8:45 p.m. for a report of an unresponsive person in an apartment.Upon arrival, officers located a 34-year-old man suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

RACINE -- Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Rogan's Shoes located at 3520 Rapids Drive in Racine on Thursday, September 17th.Racine police say shortly after 12 p.m., a suspect entered the store, displayed a weapon and demanded money.

Police: 14-year-old girl dies at the hospital after she was shot in Racine

RACINE --Racine police say a 14-year-old girl died at Children's Hospital Thursday night, September 10th after she was shot near Douglas and Albert in Racine.Police were dispatched to a home in the area around 8:30 p.m. for a report of a girl who was suffering from a gunshot wound.The girl was taken to the hospital, and then transported via Flight for Life to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee.Police say some persons of interest have been identified, but this investigation continues.Racine police are interested in any additional information anyone may have regarding this death investigation.Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (262) 635-7756.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates.

Racine police schedule community meeting as three convicted sex offenders set to be released

RACINE -- Racine police have scheduled a meeting for Monday evening, July 27th to discuss three sex offenders that are set to be released into the community.Police say 44-year-old James Doxtater will be living at 4800 Durand Avenue, 40-year-old Gary Sutton will be living at 4606 Durand Avenue, and 69-year-old Jose Trevino will be living at 1430 Washington Avenue.On Monday evening at 6:30, police and representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections will be on hand to provide more information to residents.
